Why buy it if you know it won't be good everywhere.
SFI 31.2/2005 is another rating tech looks for on the inside of the helmet.
Because Blair at Pfadt was the one that said a DOT approved helmet was ok. I wasn't aware of the other 1/4 mile rules. If that's the case, them I'm returning my helmet and getting my refunf for the Pfadt track day, I am not spending $100 + on a helmet that I will only use occassionally.

The track is SCCA certified so the rules should be:

Snell – SA2005, M2005, K2005, SA2000, M2000, K98, SA95, M95
SFI – 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A
BSI – BS6658-85 type A/FR

Here's the general rules that most tracks use. These are from the 2011 NHRA rule book.

I was warned to get a racing jacket that is SFI 3.2A/1 rated. I found one online for $80 at OG racing. You may need one of these if you are running forced induction. Some tracks may let you slide, it's better to be safe than sorry. I will lend my jacket to anyone at the fest in a jam at the fest, just look me up.

So, that means I'm going to return my helmet and get my refund.
I wish someone would have said something, when I posted the helmet that I was getting. Kinda ticks me off.

Hey Milk 1027 before you give up. I was told on the phone by Pfadt that if you didn't have a helmet that you could most likly rent one at the track. I think that the racing school there will rent you one for a day or two. you should call them and see what they would charge.

The thing is, I'm bringing two cars. I'm already on the fence on whether I should just leave my car at home. This put me over.

I just bought a open face Race Quip SA 2005 helmet on closeout for $130 shipped from DougHerbert.com.

I have a full face helmet too, but for the AutoCross, gonna try the open face this time.

Yeah that's way out of my price range... I'll be trolling Craigslist for sure

Whereabouts in SFV are you man? I grew up in Granada Hills
