New, not an owner yet, from Austin, TX

What's up everybody? I'm new to the forum and I'm really interested in getting a Camaro. I'm in the process of buying a house so it's going to have to wait a couple months.

I'm currently in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS (Full of win! ...not really). I basically got it as a lease since my previous car loan (2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec) had a really bad loan and I needed to get out of it.

I plan on getting a 2014 Camaro 1LS (maybe 1SS if payments aren't too high) in Ashen Grey Metallic with either Silver or Black Rally Stripes and upgraded wheels. I'm one of the weird people out there that actually prefers the updated look of the 2014, however if Chevrolet starts throwing down cash rebates of $3,000 on the 2013 model, I'd probably consider it since there isn't really and power upgrades and it's still based on the Zeta platform so no weight savings.

I don't plan on going to crazy with mods. Just the simple intake/headers/exhaust and maybe a new grill. I'm looking forward to meet fellow Camaro owners and learn a bit about the car. I just really really really really really miss having a manual and I'm getting tired of driving around in a FWD slushbox :P

Here's some pics of my old car (before I moved to Texas) if anyone is *remotely* interested:

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

So far I've test driven...

Scion FR-S
Mustang GT
Camaro SS (auto)
Camaro 1LS

The Camaro SS was fun, but it's hard to find one with a manual around here. Plus I'd feel more comfortable with the payments on a V6. I really like the solid feel of the Camaro over the other cars and it doesn't help that it's the cheapest. Now I just have to play the waiting game. Also I need to build up my credit score to get better pricing on a lease.

*keeping my fingers crossed*
