Maybe I'm not tracking all this but it doesn't seem too difficult to be replaced. Why is it taking so much time in why do you need a drill Pull out the bushings replacing with a better bushings And put it back in. So what am I missing? Whenever I install the shifter to me lil less than 30 minutes to do it.

You need a drill to bernish finish fit the the existing pin to the new bushing
The new bushing is an olzite metal material Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2

Got my bushing installed last night. Great job on the bushings man. Very little movement from side to side. Shifting is cleaner and smother. Thanks for putting out a quality product.

I didn't realize that Hurst was having this problem with their shifters until after I ordered one on Monday night. My shifter is supposed to be delivered today...
Anyone heard if Barton is having this same issue? I'm working with the place I bought my shifter from to see if I can just return the Hurst for a Barton since this problem... Thanks

I have an unopened set of these available for sale, just fyi. I bought them from NH-SS before we knew that these only work on the aftermarket Hurst and not the factory version.
PM for details. Selling at a small loss. |

So I just came back from my local Chevy dealer and they told me that they had no number for the dowel pin that goes between the shift linkage and the transmission linkage. Any numbers or ideas? I have access to a machine shop but would rather buy the GM part.

I finally got around to installing my bushings today! It was a real PITA, no matter what anyone here says! I had to really work at removing the assembly from the mount to the point of using a mallet to "tap" it out! Then the burnishing took some time but not too bad for the first time ever doing that! Re-install went pretty smooth except for getting the bushings to line up inside the fork, pretty tight fit! All in all the precision fit was excellent which is why it was a slow process. Good job OP on machining these bushings. The original nylon bushings I removed had very noticable wear and any longer may have just outright failed! I had about 3/4" play before and now it's about 1/4". Feels very nice and firm now!
