Now I am going to be afraid to change pulley sizes. I know the minute I do it the SC will fail and I will be screwed.

Odds are the min you change your pulley you void the SC warranty anyway, so just go ahead and replace the stock coupler with a solid one at the same time.

If the rattle did not go away, then they would replace the entire SC.
Thank you so much for your input.

That would explain why I've never heard this rattle that is talked about so much.

I just saw this article that was posted today. I still dont think they ate doing any replacements unless it is rattling.

Does the problem (rattle at low rpm's) have to be occurring for GM to replace the supercharger, or can we bring the car in for a preemptive replacement?

I believe they will look up your VIN and see if it applies to your car.

After 30 minutes talking with the manager he recomended to contact gm directly and ask them to tell him to change it, and he will aprove to change the supercharger.
i contacted gm and i have been waiting ......the custumer rep has been really kind even if she is not in the mechanics, she is trying to find out why they say that the rattle is normal.
does anybody knows in florida about any gm dealership aware of these issues that already did change any supercharger?
any good idea?

Your dealer needs to read the new bulletin closer #13313.

It says in black and white, the condition is - rattle at idle.

The correction is - replace the supercharger.

Part numbers are provided and a complete decription of the changes made to the new supercharger including a solid coupler.

There was and old bulletin saying the idle rattle noise was normal. They need to read the new bulletin. Reading is fundamental as they say.

That motorauthority article is a little out of whack too. The 10 yr / 120,000 mile warranty is from when the car was purchased new. Not from when the new supercharger is installed. That fact is also in the new bulletin #13313.

That's good news for 2014 owners. I just traded in my 2010 SS on a 2014 ZL-1 about 2 weeks ago.

Glad to hear GM is standing behind the 2012-2013 owners...

now we all need to get GM to ante up and replace all the superchargers with the TVS 2300 form the ZR1 as "good will"... lol...

Took mine to the dealer today for an oil change and took the TSB with me.
Service manager listened to the car at idle, the rattle was there, ran the engine to 1500rpm, and the rattle was less but still there.

They're going to order a new SC in the morning.
No arguing at all.

Looks like they will only replace the SC if it has the rattle.

Are they replacing it with the "new" version or the same one?
