I've got Teds posi fix and 370 gears ready to install. Daily driver-weekly drag racer. I'm thinking I need a higher stall but still need drive-ability, suggestions?
With those gears and type of power adder I would say between a 3000 and 3600 with a 2.5 STR.

checking back in.
here were my gains from converter change only.
2.0 60's down to a 1.75. on stock pirellis,
and 11.85 et compared to 12.24.
lost a couple mph. 119 - 117
once my rims get here, i will mount my nittos, and pray for 3 more tenths!
i need an 11.48 or quicker.

p.s. i got the part from Jannetty!

Cool, Tires are going to make a big difference then you can pour some power to them with the converter.

Something I am still missing is that you improved your 60ft on stock tires with this converter how is that possible as I though it would just make the tires spin more. What technique do you use to get out of the hole. I seen you brake stand to about 1900 then do you just punch it to the floor or roll out and ease into into it?

Converters Can make the car blow the tires away if you just smash the gas but if driven properly can improve 60 ft and 330 ft times which carries to the end.

The converter makes the car accelerate faster in all gears.

ted is right.

my first run yest, staging at 2k, i punched it to see what would happen, and ran a 12.4.
i totally unhooked the tires and had to throttle back to 40%tps for a half second,
then once i got back into it i spun again into second.
next run half hour later. i staged at 1400ish, and rolled into the throttle, so i was wot by the end of first gear. no wheel hop traction off. felt smooth. ran the 11.92.
two runs later , i got my best launch and time.
then i bailed for the day, since i knew the differences, and i have to say, that the converter almost drives no different than stock. i like the slip down low so i dont accidentally spin the tires a bit commuting.
On the strip, there is a substantial difference.

I bought the 3000 stall Pro torque from Ted. Its going in right now along with the 370 gears, posi fix., 3.1 pulley and Meth kit This is the last race weekend of the season at Bandimere Speedway so you know where I will be. I'll post the results. BTW ran a couple 12.65' last weekend with 8200' D.A.'s and 82 degrees.

Dont worry about losing trap speed. I did that as well in my 4th gen after the converter. ET is what you are after now and yours looks like a good gain considering the tires.

what is the slip you speak of down low? I know on the strip the converter would be much improved but what about the guy on the street that you need to beat will the converter paired with suspension mods and drag radial help or hurt on the street?
