General Motors Performace Parts heads that have been CNC ported.

http://www.superchevy.com/features/s...-and-cam-test/

Usually install heads when doing a cam/lifters.

Google GMPP CNC LS3 heads, that will get you started...

OP, Is there a Tuner in your area? Are you close to Columbus?

Dyno Tune Motorsports may be able to help, they build some bad ass Camaro's

Sometimes its best to start a communication with a tuner before you buy anything. This way they can educate you about all the variables involved and where best to acquire the recommended parts.

I purchased mine through Summit. or you could just wait for some place to do your own heads which for most shops can range in the ?????$$$$$ area if not using the factory CNC jobs....AS your factory heads have solid intake valves the GMPP heads come with hollow stem intakes for bonus to help top end stability for higher revs..one reason the l99 has lower top rev limit.

Mine cost back when I got them under $1400 for a set, some places charge $800 ish just to hand port your heads after cleaning them up and then you still have to buy new valves if you want to upgrade, some places are cheaper but most do coast around that range just to do your heads....not exactly a bargain.

The best deal out there though is from a dealership that actually freshens up and touches up the factory CNC job called Dickey Scoggins and gains a little more power.

The thing is unless your going all out FI, Stroker, Big Big cam your gains may be about squat with heads being ported as our factory heads flow more than BBC heads ported to the max....Just like our factory intake the heads are pretty much that good... And believe me I studied up everywhere on flow and output numbers before going factory which can out flow and make more power than most shops hand porting which is just well...sad...LOL And yes a bargain and someday when I have money again I can go small bore ls7 ...LOL

Now factory CNC heads are 150-200 more than stock heads, not much combustion chamber porting but its in the runners, and for different usages there lots of different ways to port heads for use and different chamber sizes you can go with or aftermarket heads but with those you make a more specific use heads of far more expensive and investment in heads which are not the most cost effective use of $ but are great when its a more all out build to help flow and power. Its kind of like the FAST intake....not so much a gainer for a stock or mild build in terms of $ per HP.

And we all know money does matter, and the factory heads have the same clearances for deck height to know when building a engine/ cam selection etc.....But basically the factory heads come with springs that are crap beehives not even good for the factory cam. Now on here is a guy named Bo White who does port out some heads for what may be a decent price for a hobby not a business, people even port there own if like me they have done it before and know what they are doing with the correct tools it about massaging out material to increase flow so therefore runner size and shape and chamber volumes and shape can matter for flame over, torque or HP production and best rpm range for power etc...... Well there you go my morning rant MURR in the morning LOL

We've got Stage II and Stage III CNC ported heads and we offer them through a Core Exchange program. We also offer the GMPP heads as well if you want to go that route. Please feel free to call or email us anytime with questions.

Kind regards,

I use Advanced Induction almost exclusively for our head work. Repeatable performance, excellent gains, they really know their stuff. A set of those & our Phoenix cam is a super popular package that we install all the time here.
