I think all they have to do with the Z28 is shave a few lbs and throw that blower on! Maybe some stiffer factory sway bars?

I'll graduate college this year so hopefully when the z/28 comes out in 5 years I'll have a good enough job to get one, here's hoping.

If hard evidence comes out that there will be "no stopping the Z28" I think I will have to look into ordering one as well. I have a feeling this will be starting in the $42K region from what I can figure, I looked but didnt see anything else mentioned about price.

OMG
It is about time someone spilled the beans on maybe there is going to be a Z/28. They will release the vert in 2011 model and for an encore release the Z for the 2012 model year. It is a long time to wait and I knew I have procrastinated long enough in not ordering the 2SS/RS just on the hunch that GM will produce the Z. Now as long as my Pathfinder can last another year or two.............at least let me dream myself to sleep.

We definitely need something to compete with the GT500. The '10 Shelby's are running 11's bone stock for $45k. I think they have eclipsed the turbo Supras as easiest car to modify (guys are running 9's on stock blower and motor).
That said I will still probably get an SS instead. I'm looking for a car to help my Vette with daily driving duties and not sure if the Z/28 will have an auto available (LA traffic). Gas mileage will probably be bad too with a gas guzzler tax (CTS-V is rated at 14/19 mpg). I think it will cost at least $50k too. But the Z/28 will make a great weekend/track car to compete with Ford.

Hmm, this is a VERY interesting thread indead haha, so here goes...
I would rather see the LS7 in the Z/28 (and i hope they bring it back as Z/28 again and not Z28, Z28 has always been the cheapo trademarking scheme compared to true race-inspired Z/28s or yore) but yes, i like the LS7, 505hp stock and im SURE GM can bump these numbers up at least 30hp by just doing small tid-bits here and there like cam swaps and such, so for the same horsepower you could have an all motor Z/28, plus i mean who wouldnt LOVE to say "yeah, ive got a Z/28, and yeah, its got the original 427" LOL! come on! who DOESNT wanna say they have a 427 in their car! Sounds much better than "yeah its got the LSA..." right? This is just my oppnion at least, id like to hear feedback from you, the best muscle car group on the net! haha, but especially imagine the magazine article "New 427 Z/28 Takes Crown The From Supercharged Shelby" plus id just rather drive an all motor car around regularly than a supercharged car, those are more "weekend cruisers" As far as the discussion "should we opt for Z/28 over SS?" thats a good question, if the new Camaro is around $45k-$50k then i probly wouldnt, plus since its proven that you can get around 60hp more out of an SS with just a cam swap its hard, but then again we're talkin around 125 more hp, thats exactly the same change from the V6 model to the LS3 and we all know what that does right? haha, and then again, looking back on muscle cars of the 60s what is the car EVERYONE wants? People pay good money for an SS Camaro, people pay REDICULOUS money for a numbers matching Z/28...so id probly opt for the Z/28 if at all possible...we all know its gonna be made, we've always known its coming no matter what announcements are made, its commen sense, so my final word: If you're looking for a nice thrill and a good daily driver go SS, if you want something legendary that will only appreciate in value, and to own the true leader of the pack (at the expense of some extra cabbage) definatly go Z/28...my oppinion, save for the Z/28, your oppinion? well thats why its you're oppinion |

"The Camaro Z28 special body" (quote from the front page)
Even how that's phrased is intriguing. |
