Yo KingArthur have you even sat in a Camaro yet? I ask because you are asking our opinions on the car as if you haven't sat in one yet. How about you do that, take it for a test drive and then make your decision.

2007 is a little old and thers bmw 3 series everywhere u look..and the warranty most likely expires in a year... but the 335i is faster than a camaro v6.. it needs premium fuel and more money to maintain..bmw's interior without the navigation looks uglier than the camaro..

how many miles are on the 335?

Personally, if I was considering a 335 and I wouldn't be considering the V6 Camaro...very, very different cars.

I am biased and I LOVE performance oriented BMW's...my last car was an E46 M3. If the argument for comparison is simply that they are 'close' in HP ratings...well...than you probably haven't driven either or both of the cars...

I just had the 60k mile inspection done on my wife's car and it was well over $1k. Additionally, her ABS controller needs to be replaced and that's $800. I replaced the rotors and shoes myself...but would have been an $800+ job just about anywhere else. This was all in the last 12 months. I love the car, but I point this out so that you can factor in costs correctly when planning/comparing for your budget.

I will be honest here since I have driven my really good friends 335 sedan quite a few times.

The car is fun to drive and honestly handles better than the Camaro, but it does not have the "umph" factor in it in terms of looks, aggressiveness or driving style.

The Camaro IMO looks better than the 335 from the outside, and when you press the gas, the exhaust note gives it a little character which I felt was missing from the 335. Oh and the 335 looks just about like any other BMW... most average peeps cannot differentiate that and any other 3 series...

Almost everyone spots a Camaro from far and keeps on looking at it.

Now the 335 is much faster than the 2LT/RS but then again it also costs twice as much. The SS is the real competitor.

Finally... a new car with 3 yr bumper to bumper and 5 yr/100k powertrans warranty vs a car with no warranty!

Keep in mind BMW parts and labor are very expensive. Good luck in your decision!

Yes, BMW is Big Money Wasted. The SS is lb for lb, dollar for dollar a way better value. Mine was only $36k otd for a 2SS w sunroof. Costs less to maintain and run and will hold its value just as good or better than the BMW. IMO.

And, the Camaro looks way better too.

I thought I would have to spend $70,000 or more to get a loaded, great performing, great looking, great handling car.

I looked at:

M3
550i
Cayman
GT500
XFR
Corvette
CTS-V
and many others...

I bought a 2SS RS with lots of extras, got everything I wanted AND saved $30,000. Smartest car buying decision I ever made.

And I also live in LA and though I loved the M3, it's a FREAKING BELLY-BUTTON CAR in this town since few can tell it apart from a 328i.

I was originally unimpressed with the Camaro's interior until I saw one in Inferno Orange with the IO door panels and the dashboard trim. Retro cool with modern features that says "muscle car". It's not a luxury car, however, and if that's what you want you should get something else.

The only thing lacking in the Camaro is a map-based navigation system, but I can use my iPhone on those few occasions I need a map.

As for reliability, check out JD Powers. BTW - BMWs are actually not that reliable compared with some other makes, and they are expensive to service once the "free" period is up ("free" as in you're paying for it in the price of the car).

BMW, I like the new CamaroSS and all but a BMW is a better all around car. U can go faster in the Camaro but the BMW will last many years longer
