Picked up 1LE with unintended option
Picked up my 1LE finally today. Delivered Tues but had to wait all week since work kept me from going to pick up until today. Longest 4 days ever!
noticed a very large dent on the underside of the driver door (you can see the door seal). crappy end to what should have been an awesome experience. The dealer is going to be fixing it Monday, but I really didn't want to have bodywork done on a brand new vehicle (had to do that on my Ford) Anyone else have damage upon arrival? Despite the dent the car is absolutely amazing. |

Man that really sucks. I'm with you, having body work done to a brand new car is so wrong. Like getting second hand merchandise! It is a beautiful car however. Let us know the results!

WoW, that is disappointing. :( But on the bright side, when it's fixed, all will be good again and you can get her broken-in proper and enjoy the heck out of it. Congrats on getting a great Camaro! God Bless, and hope all goes well.

That sucks. Where it's at I don't see this being fixed. I see it being replaced.

No way, fix it, vin decals cannoot be tranferred. I would much rather have it fixed, I was thinking a good body man may be able to get 90 percent or more of that out without painting. I have worked in shops in the past and that is an easy fix.

updated! signed up when the 5th gens first came out and just trolled and drooled When the 1LE concept came out I started getting quotes from dealers. The one I ended up going with is actually 120 miles from where I live b/c they were so accomidating. I'll update the thread/my profile/first pics thread with pictures of it repaired and redetailed.
Just an FYI to those going to pick up cars. Make them show it to you in sunlight and shade. The dent was extremely hard to see on the ashen gray in the sunlight when it was clean. When i got some road dust on it the exposed door seal gave it away. In the shade it was much more visible. |

That is especially good advice when picking a car up after bodywork too!
I had a shop do some fairly large scale work on a car rquiring new paint on most of the front end. Came to pick it up (in bright sunlight) and had them pull it into the garage- you couldn't see it outside, but the new paint didn't match! It's much easier to refuse a car than to bring it back and tell them they need to do it over! Oh, and that's a beautiful car! Tell you what, I'll trade you straight up- as is right now! |

Did the dealer let you know there was damage before you picked it up or you found it afterwards, because if they didn't say anything I would be all over their ass and have them order another, other than that if PDR can get it fixed I guess that would be good it looks minor but hard to tell.

Sorry to hear about that, that really sucks. Hope they do a nice job for you.
when I received my car it had a chunk of paint missing from the edge of the drivers door like someone opened the door into something. It's sucks being all excited only to be disappointed. Nice car though, good luck with it

same thing here, front quater panel had a "ding" - looked like another Camaro door opened into it. Dealer fixed, could not see any differance.
But it only held me up by one day. |

Ended up returning the car. Dealer already reordered the car and will give me the same trade/deal we had on the original plus a few add-on goodies. If anyone is interested in the car above with 136 miles on it and a repainted door at a deeply discounted price, i can give you their number.
