I had the ZL1 on order and was 3rd of 4 allocations for a 2012 and GM didn't come though not me and 662 HP is the way I'm going now. When I want 100 mph burnouts I'll still get in the Camaro.
You'v got one of the VERY BEST SS's out there... I was looking forward to seeing what Andy would do with your ZL1... heck I went up in your neighborhood and picked up my car after my allocation went to a 2013. They are still out there...

But then again I will enjoy hearing more from you on the 13 GT500 than I would from the trolls around here...

Now.... that is also someone I would enjoy hearing about the GT500 from. It's amazing how people can actually be interested in the competition whey they are not being challenged all the time by those that just try to annoy.

As with the ZL1, the 1LE transmission features a standard air-to-liquid cooling system for track use. The 1LE also features exclusive, monotube rear dampers instead of the twin-tube dampers on SS models.

Hope this helped!

Now there's a lot of info in there! It sounds like the ILE with it's changed gearing and setup is going to be very formidable! Can''t wait to see what it does vs the Boss!

Apparently all the Mustang guys have forgotten how it ended the last time Ford got into a horsepower war with Chevy. It ended with Ford doing a recall on their top-of-the-line Mustang because they weren't making the advertised horsepower. The only time in automotive history a car had to be recalled for lack of power, and it was of course, a Mustang! I'd say that's sending them home with their tails between their legs and I'd say this one will end much the same!

Or one can look at it as the Camaro went out of production after the 03 Cobra came out?

How is it going to end up the same when the Mustang is pushing 82 more hp?

I think the last year of production for the 4th gen Camaro was 02. I believe 02 comes before 03, not after.

82 more horsepower on who's dyno? I hope it's not the same one they used last time!

Mustangs are just like the chargers when they came out with a new body. Everybody wanted them, but you see so many of them, you get tired of seeing them because everyone has it. The camaro succeeds in sales because a very lot of people already own the charger or mustang so not many need to be bought. The camaro provides people with a different look when viewing or driving. I wanted the sport mustang from my aunt when I was coming out of high school and my father owns a 94 camaro, but then GM released the new body to the camaro. I forever switched to chevy and the camaro for years to come. Camaro>mustang
Wait what? It's a bad thing that there are so many Mustangs/Chargers on the road *yes, most are V6, I prefer it that way, eases my pockets* but the fact that there are LOADS AND LOADS of 5th Generation Camaros is a positive.

I suppose...usually I would say pick one side or the other, but I know where I'm at, so I'll hold my comments.

Also, to stay on topic. If I bought a '12, then '13 came out with an improvement like power I'd be P'd off....see 2010 Mustang GT owner/2004 GT owner etc...

That's why you research before you buy. I thought about waiting for 2014, but then in 2015 the new gen will be out. I didn't want a first model year again. So 2013 works out nice. And then in 2-3 years I can trade it in on a 6th Gen.

As far as any power upgrades go, those will probably just raise the MSRP and for 3 grand I could get plenty more power if I felt I needed it.

Look, they are going to bump HP, as sure as God made apples. When is the question. Will there be a stage two upgrade from the factory next year? I hope so,..for now I am quite satisfied with my car. At times the power can be a handful and it forces me to dwell on rusty driving skills to keep the Beast within the envelope. Enjoy the ZL1 folks, it's quite a ride.
