Question when buying OEM brakes

So I went to Auto Zones website to get prices for rotors/brakes and it says "package quantity" 1, does that mean it is only 1 pad/rotor or 1 SET of 2 per axel? I am utterly confused so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

Rotors are typically sold each, unless you are buying an aftermarket upgrade kit.

Pads will be sold as a set per axle (ie: front pads or rear pads).

Personally, I'd go with OEM or upgrade to aftermarket. My wife warped like 3 sets of Autozone front rotors on her Grand Prix and I finally gave up and let my dealer replace them the last time (using GM OEM parts) and not another issue.

Yea, I was thinking of going R1 rotors with Hawk pads but wasn't sure if I can justify the $400 price tag for everything.

As the brakes are the most important mechanical part of the car..not that hard to justify.

You could likely get OEM parts from your dealer (unless they have a huge markup on parts) cheaper than $400.

Well I didn't mean to cheap out on brakes but that I wasn't sure I wanted to spend $400 on R1 rotors and Hawk pads if I could do it for 1/2 the price and stay OEM or similar.
