My exhaust set off a car alarm this morning.....

I remote start my car every morning, so by the time I get to the car, its warmed up. Well I did the routine this morning, and 3 spots over a late-model Subaru Hatchback's alarm goes off!!

This is a first time ever for me, and I have only seen this done on movies or car shows on TV, so I was pretty excited this morning.....LOL

In case you haven't heard my exhaust yet, its in this thread:

LOL...this reminded me of something that happed a few days ago, I was taking my daughter's car seat out the Camaro in a parking lot and I kind of dropped it flat on the pavement and it set off a car alarm on the next row!
I guess the guy had the sensitivity turned up so high no one could breathe on his car.
Probably one of those "you had to be there" things...but I thought it was hillarious.

My SS exhaust is still stock for now. When I swapped out pipes on my bike I went to Radio Shack. When I started it to leave there was a guy that just got out of his truck and it set his alarm off. He made a frowny face!

I used to LOVE riding through tunnels and parking garages on my Ducati 749. The clackety clackety clutch together with the open exhaust that sounded like bombs going off would spell certain doom for overly sensitive car alarms!

I haven't upgraded the Camaro's exhaust yet, but when I do, look out old ladies and school children!

Yea my exhaust startles people on the road. I don't even use the horn. I just shift down and gun it a little, and the Red Sea Parts LOL

You guys are all laughing about the nuisance you're making? I'm glad you're not my neighbor.

I don't know whether you guys have families or not, but when my neighbor's dog wakes us up ahead of time (I have two young children), the children are over-wired and cranky and make the day miserable for my wife. Happy wife = happy life, and the reverse is true: upset wife = upset life! If you disturbed my family like that, and triggered my car alarm to boot - I'd be very very angry.

I scared a brand new Challenger R/T the other day. It was 2 spaces over from my car. When I started the Camaro the Challengers alarm started going off.

You weren't going by the name "Tradosaurus" on the boards for awhile were you? This sounds similar to some of the typical high horse stuff he used to spout to everyone on the board.

My car is in a parking deck. I don't have choice but to leave at 8 AM in the morning for work, so I can earn that paycheck to pay my car payments every month. I used to live in a normal neighborhood, but I had a one car garage.

And yea it is funny to observe reactions of people listening to your exhaust and setting off car alarms, especially when I have done neither ever in my life.
