2013 vs 2014

Hello. I'm new to this forum. I currently have a 1970 olds convertible but ready to make the change to a zl1. I have the option of getting a 2013 or placing an order for a 2014. I was told today manufacturing will start sept 8 and yes they are taking orders.

I have not been able to find much info on the 2014's. if anyone has any thoughts or comparisons please share.

In addition, I am considering the Hennessy 650 upgrade. Does anyone have any experience with them or suggesting when upgrading.

Thanks

2013 ZL1 vs 2014 ZL1?

2014 has color HUD, new rear appearance, Recaro seat option

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285413

Quote:
The rear appearance of the 2014 Camaro ZL1 is restyled including the rear fascia, decklid, spoiler and tail lamps.
The front fascia of the Camaro ZL1 is carry over for 2014 to help it maintain a unique identity and continue to meet specific downforce and cooling needs of this model.

I let money do the talking in these situations. the difference between the too cars is slight to pay more for one over the other.

2014 is a year newer but if you found a below inoice deal on 13 that is the way I would go.

the color hud is not worth much money too me. I personally don't like the new rear as much yet but it may grow on me over time. I was able to order at supplier price but many people have been getting soaked at MSRP which is lame.

choose which one you like the most. You can always buy recaro seats for your 2013 . The color hud just not what I expected . The front and rear is different. They stop making the IOM for 2014 on the camaros. Have fun!

I had the same problem.2013 had 45 miles on it and was $3000 cheaper,2014 will have hardly no miles and the recaro seats that I just love.Black 2014 is now on order.

Just the rear is different on the 2014 ZL1, the front stays the same as the 2012-13.

color hud , and color dic, different rear , and addition of recaro seat option
re-sale value would be better on a 14 i would say , only exception I can think of would be a 12 because it was the first year they made them , or a 13 vert cuz it was the only year to get a zl1 vert before the rear redesign

You can buy aftermarket recaros seats that look really close to what comes on the new Z28 for about 1600 a seat in leather. You can have the ZL1 logo sewn on by a good interior shop.

Food for thought if the Recaros are the only reason for the 2014. And I'm sure you could buy them eventually from the dealer.

I'm going with a used 2013 and taking the extra money saved and shipping it off for some mods.

Why is the depreciation so bad on the zl1 I would have thought for a limited production car it would hold a little better?
