Was the Hellcat offered in 1985? What does the price of a Mustang 25 years ago have to do with Dodge's noncompetitive offerings today?

$10,000 difference? How far do you have to reach up your ass to pull this nonsense out?

now that is Canadian Prices on cars that all have similar options. I know that I can get the SRT for under that price as Dodge will move on their price, Ford will not move on the price of the Mustangs, GM may have some room to move now but back when I was trying to get the Iroc Z I could not get any discount.

Mrsp Price of my RT Classic 45000$ I got it for 28500$ new off the lot.
How about we list ACTUAL Canadian prices rather than make up numbers in your head.

Mustang GT: $41,018
Camaro SS: $38,790
Challenger SRT: $52,095

AGAIN a $10,000 difference.

Of course you got a Dodge for a fraction of the sticker price - how else would they sell the few they sell?

Prices that I listed were not made up
Mustang base price for the 6 speed 41000$
43500$ Brembo Brake
Pro audio, Leather Sport Seats, Car cover 47000$
This still does not have the same that the SRT has

Camaro

2SS Base with 6sp performance pak Radio Nav 50400$ rebate 3000k
46500$ right now

Sorry didn't pull numbers out of the air
both Camaro and Mustang not optioned out to the SRT

But you knew that anyway
your one of those GM or nothing other than LR I guess

I was a major GM guy even have the Tattoo to prove it, but I now have Ford, GM and Dodge. Im open to more than just one brand.

In 1990 the 350 Iroc with T-tops my price was 32000$ and that was working at a GM dealer. (fact sorry Medisin that is the truth)
In 1990 I picked up a Notch 5.0L 5 speed loaded for 13995$ tax in and fees I was in for 19000$ Fact I have the bill of sale to prove it still
so stick it

I'd like to see the window sticker for a $32,000 Iroc in 1990. That sounds WAY high.

Canadian for a loaded Iroc Z taxes in

found a window sticker for the 1989 5.7L Iroc Z this is US car price
so add 5000-6000k for Canadian price.

Do the options on the SRT8 make it faster? How much does HUD cost on the Dodge? How many years free maintenance does the Challenger come with? These are performance cars, not luxury automobiles. I can step into a SS or GT for $10,000 less than I can step into a Challenger which means it is not competitively priced for this segment. Even the stripped out bare-bones Core model costs $10,000 more than a GT.

Sorry to disappoint you but I've only owned two GM automobiles in my life. I've owned four Jeeps, two Land Rovers, a Toyota, an Audi, two BMW's, a Mercury, a Jaguar when I worked in the UK and a Peugeot when we lived in Paris.

I don't care what the dealer fooled you into paying. There has never been a time in history when the Camaro similarly optioned commanded a $10,000 premium over the Mustang. Never happened.

They must not teach good math in Canada. That sticker says $19000. If we add $6,000 to reflect Canadian pricing that brings the total to $25,000 Canadian, NOT $32,000.

That sticker reflects the same price as a 1989 Mustang 5.0. Where is this mythical $10,000 difference?

My 2014 GT500 was just a bit over $58k with glass roof, if you are paying $50k for GT's in Canada, that's crazy.

I would love to have a 700hp 8-speed Hellcat, but not if its $20k more than what I have now..

Maybe so when comparing a manual car to a manual car but when an automatic with a well designed IRS, (ZL!), the automatic car has the advantage on launch most of the time. Note the stock suspension ZL1s pulling down 1.50s 60'.

To answer your question "Do the options on the SRT8 make it faster?" to answer your question no/yes the comfort options do not the 392 in the SRT yes. How do I know I have owned both and there is no comparison. The present 392 is simply a much stronger engine. The 392 gets another power bump for 15 which I bet will put rwhp very near to the LS7 never mind the LS3. Oh and you can purchase this power for 40k in a Core model. 15 Scat Pack R/T with the 392 should be in the 42-43k range.

Note the following dyno testing.
