I get more compliments than crap, though a friend of the family just started driving, and built a '70 Maverick, while I give him kudos for doing that he is pretty damn mouthy when it comes to cars, I keep calling him out but he refuses to race.
On to the compliment... The other day family and I was leaving Wataburger, and a young boy probably 6'ish started jumping up and down and pointing at my car yelling "Mom, look at that Camaro" I was trying to get my teenage girls in the car so I could start it up for him but his mom wanted nothing to do with looking at some car and put him in their Lexus SUV and took off.

I always screw with the import kids by complimenting their car or something they did to it when they talk sh*t about American cars etc. It really defuses them and hopefully teaches them a little something about car culture. If you love cars, that's all that matters. They make lots of different cars for a reason.

I'm 25, and when I first got mine 2 years ago a buddy asked if I was having a mid-life crisis. Lol.
I've also heard the "but is it paid off?" Quite a few times. And lastly, I've gotten the "should have gotten a BMW" to which I laughed hysterically at. |

I get his all the time, and only from Mustang drivers, and I say to myself, WTF?!? I won't even acknowledge them... like, really... are you 12? We have open air malls here in CO... and I'm crawling thru The Orchard Town Center Mall with my 17 y/o daughter and her 15 y/o friend in tow, and I have a Mustang passing in other direction... families walking all around us... and he starts the 12 y/o revving engine routine? Really?

Don't understand why you guys get offended when someone revs their engine at you...

Never thought I would post on this thread...but two recent comments got me.
At the Woodward Dream Cruise someone shouted out..."Nice car, but it's not a classic!". I wanted to stop and shout back, "No dumb ass, my 1969 Z28 is at home tonight, I had it here last night! The Dream Cruise is not only for classic cars!" Then last weekend at a car show where I had my 1969 Z28 and 14 1LE side by side some lady looks at me 1LE and asks "why do people buy these cars? Do they think they will be a classic some day?" No stupid, I bought it because it is a new bad ass car that is fun to drive!! Judgemental people piss me off! |

No midlife crisis here...I bought my 1982 Z28 in 1986 when I was 19! I still have it almost 30 years later! For me...the Camaro is a life crisis! Forget the "mid" part! LOL Showing all 3 cars again tomorrow! All are clean and sweet |

I was at the track tonight and couldnt believe how many imports were in attendance. Its good to see the young guys showing interest in drag racing. Now some of these kids were running deep into the 12s. I just thought the guys with their girlfriend in the passenger seat recording a 16 second pass was pretty funny. If your a car guy then thats the perfect date.

I was at a cruise in parked beside a VW bus and the owner told me the same thing. To mess with him I said ok and walked over to another car.
