I would say try to find a used G8 GT. 4 door version of the Camaro for the most part. I drove one and it got up and went.

When we had kiddos I had a 4 door (still do). The only issue you are goign to deal with is with the car carrier handle. You need to fold it down when they are in the car. It will cause you to have to move the seat up on the passenger side. I'm 6'-5" and the wife is 6' so we had (have) issues with leg room. If you are not tall and you aren't hauling people constantly you should be OK. It sounds like you are young stick with the camaro. DO NOT GET A MINIVAN!!!! you do not need it. I have one, yes it is still lame!
PS: Good luck, and congrats. Kiddies truely are the greatest joy in the universe! |

While not exactly the same my daughter and her family have a Mustang as their DD. It was a little more difficult when the car seat was rear facing and we had to make sure the car seat was small enough to fit in the back seat. My daughter always said once she got the hip push to get the car seat into the back worked out, getting her into the back wasn't a big deal.
Now that she is in a forward facing car seat it's not that big of a deal at all. My daughter is 5'4 and almost 100 pounds, I haven't seen that her husband has any problems at all. Is it as easy as getting her into my Escape? - No way - But it is entirely manageable. Cheers |

NO WAY.
Baby seats are hard enough with a 4 door. Sell the Camaro and buy a used Pontiac G8 GT or G8 GXP. |

My wife and I are able to get the carseat in the Camaros whenever we need to, it's kind of become an old habit on weekends when we take the Camaros out. It was a little tough at first, but now it gets done pretty quick and easily.
And congrats on fatherhood!

I had a 3rd gen when both of mine were infants. It was a PIA getting them in and out at first, but you get the hang of it. They are now 8 and 4 and I have never owned a 4 door vehicle. I'm shorter than Dad so she goes behind me in her booster seat and fits fine on the driver's side. I will say what is more of a pain than the door and space issue is the mess. Because of some mishaps, there is absolutely NOTHING besides them allowed in the back seat. What a PIA it is to get back there and clean that window.

I have a one year old and a four year old. I havent had any problems with getting them in or out without sacrificing seating...when the times comes to move my seat forward to accomdate then i will swap the two and make the youngest sit behind me...that will buy a couple more years lol...well as long as I don't have any passengers
It is my DD but I am fortunate to have another small SUV (wife's). Very doable but can be a pain in the arse sometimes, like when its raining. |

Just try it and sell it if it doesn't work out. I dealt with a 2 door fullsize bronco when my kids were in car seats. occasionally it sucked, most of the time it was fine. bottom line, that was my vehicle and I had to deal with it.
I think it'll be fine. Just the rear facing on the passenger side will be an issue at times. The seat will have to be up fairly close to the dash. But it should be usable. |
