I have 2 10" L7 solo barics and a matching amp from my jeep that are awesome and I plan to install in the camaro. Has anyone done a custom box with 2 10" L7? I would pay extra if I could get a stealthlike box for them that they make for the round subs that integrates perfectly into the side of the trunk

I miss my S18X, and my S10X. Loudest trunk car I ever built had a pair of the S10Xs in it, off a MA Audio HK4000d. With three batteries and a custom built Irragi alternator under the Maxima's hood, that thing would break 150s all day legal. Stupidly insanely loud to even attempt to sit in it.

Of course there was barely any trunk left, lol.

In short, Kicker subs are what they say they are. They are a good quality speaker that, in the right box, will get loud and sound good doing it!

I had a pair of Solobaric 12" L7's first gen in my 1996 cavalier when i was in high school. I built the box. i dont remember exactly what the specs were. i think maybe 2 cubes per sub tuned to like 34 or 35hz. They were running off a jbl bp1200.1 amp. Then i had my cdt audio hd62 component set up front running off an old beautiful lanzar opti 500.2.

The car was so loud and clean it was ridiculous. Plus i sound deaden the whole car (car was very slow). If you were in the backseat it was hard to breathe.

I do miss that stereo once in a while. I dont miss the car. The solobarics were never a sq sub, but they are fantastic for spl.

I have 2 10" L7's. Sound great for 2 10's. People are suprised when they find that out. One L7 would be good for the average listener.

Never thought about that. Does sound deadening the car slow it down that much?

When you have a 120hp 4 cylinder with a 3 speed automatic, adding any weight slows it down. My car was completely sound deaden, trunk, doors, complete floor pan, roof, etc. Probably the quietest cavalier around. Funny part is i was able to get all my sound deadening for free from a friend at the time. He was sponsered by some audio shop, so he had tons laying around.

Enough sound deadening material can add some definate weight to a car.
