SMOKED CLUTCH!
so i'm waiting with baited breath here to hear back from the dealership. The car has driven fine up until yesterday. I started having problems getting the car into gear lastnight and this morning on the way to the dealership the clutch pedal was really loose and there was almost no travel. 4 hours later I called and asked and they hadn't dropped the tranny yet but they said the clutch was definitely toast........
any one else have any clutch issues? |

Thats good, hate to see a tune mess up your clutch warranty. Was just reading Hot Rod magazine and they said they did not like the clutch design much and would be keeping an eye on it.

My Dealership is great though, i've never seen such an organized shop. I know they'll take good care of it but it's just that fact that I have a brand new camaro and i'm driving a pontiac G6 right now is killing me!!!!

Yea, could be anything.... bearing...., springs... who knows?? fluke for sure. I love the 6spd. They will get it ironed out for you. Your the first post I've read on clutch going out so far. I think thats what leads me to think its just a fluke. I don't know your driving habits/style so I won't comment on that. but to be fair one would have to mention it in evaluating the trouble. Aren't warranties great

Clutches are not under warranty unless you can prove it was a manu failure.
You could have been doing hard launches or ridding the clutch would be the only way to fry a clutch in 2500 IMO. I have been driving stick for 17 years and many LSx clutches with no issues. |
