I called one near my work in Houston, on FM1960 between Champions and Veterans. They said they were a franchise, but that they were honoring the deal all today tomorrow. Here were their rules:

You cannot call in the order, they won't start making it until they see the Camaro.

The order goes under the name using the license plate number.

Guess I am lucky since this one is a frachise but they were honoring the deal. As noted in an earlier post, just call the one you were going to go to first to be sure, just in case.

Selma Alabama location is locally owned but manager said he was going along with the giveaway. Ask for Johnny.
Now I have an 80 mile drive to look forward to.
Thanks Papa John.

Kinda negates the money you're saving with a free pizza when you drive that far.

I take that back, I called one location in Fair Lawn NJ and said they were honoring it and that all franchise locations are SUPPOSED to as well. You need to call your nearest locations before you drive over though to confirm. The "Corporate Only" rule is NOT true!

Head to www.papajohns.com and click on the link to enter your address. Change the "miles" as necessary to locate a store closest in proximity to you! Enjoy!

OH cool he found his Camaro. I remember hearing his interview and I thought to myself "I sure hope he finds his Camaro" and then "hmm I have never had Papa Johns, I should try it". But I still havent and I still wont get no pizza because I don't have my Camaro yet:(

But congrats to Papa John. That was an amazing story

They'll likely know tomorrow morning, so I would call early if I were you.

Ha ha, you guys and gals WAY beat me to this...I was hoping to break some new news.

Oh well.

Either way, a very cool story. If I had the scratch, I'd pay very well to track down my sold 69 "resto-mod" from way back in the day.

Either way, I salute "Pappa John" for his offer.

Not to mention, a 70 and 1/2 Camaro, even modded for the strip, is STILL a very good investment.

Well, maybe not for $250K -- but that says a lot about the devotion us Camaro owners show for our love of the car.

Sooo-----I'd bet $100 ONE of us, from this forum, can contact Pappa John, and get him to post at least once on the forum.

Who's up to the challenge?!!?!?!

We all noticed his "personal delivery" commercial a long way back, right? That car was surely the "look-alike" he settled with until the real thing was found.

Either way, Way Cool!

Go Chebby! Camaro Forever!!

Fugg the free pizza. This is a success story to be honored. Either way, I'll try tomorrow and post results later in the evening.

The one he got back also doesn't have the rocker panel trim and appears to have been repainted (no more blackout) and have received a modified exhaust (can't see the pipe behind the wheel).

*sigh* I'd love to have a '70.5-'73 to sit beside my 2010...

You'll also notice that the back was accented black, there was a trim bottom on the sides, had mud flaps, and didn't have the cut off switch for the battery on the back in the original photo. As the story states, the man who purchased this in 2004 modified it for racing and car shows. So the first thing you would do is remove excess drag and hazards (sunroof, body trim, mud flaps). Then put the battery and gas tank in the trunk which for NHRA standards requires a cut off switch accessible from the rear of the car. And lastly you would paint it to your own flavor of color. My guess is that once it was found, they went and had it painted to the original gold and black but overlooked the rear accent. Or Papa didn't want it that way.
