Camaro5 Rocks, Here's Why....
Ok, so a little background...I've always been a daddy's girl, when I got my first car (89 Hyundai Excel), he made me change the oil and all four of the tires before I could drive it...
 When I turned 21 he bought me a brand new 94 black camaro. I wrecked it 2 weeks later He got it fixed but I got the hyundai back... So years come and go, I'm a poor grad student, then a poor psychologist paying back student loans. All the while my heart yearns for the mystique of the camaro, alas they stopped making them. Then three years ago, I happen across the concept car, actually the convertible. So I decide then I will have this car again and treat it with the respect that it deserves. In January of this year I discover this website, been hawking ever since. I decide I can not wait for the convertible, so the husband and I go to the local dealer on Valentine's day, and put the order in. Call my daddy, who lives across the country, and mailed him the brochure. We were like two kids at Christmas...Though of course I had to hear.."Don't wreck this one". So because of this website, I knew I wasn't going to get the car in mid-April as I was told by the dealer. I did however become obsessed with this forum. So I was patient, didn't start bugging the guy at the dealership until May, and then just emails every other week or so. Get an email in June that my car was built on June 15  , so start asking for the vin# for insurance and finance purposes. Dealer says no vin after 2, then 3 weeks. So WTF, not possible.... Finally break down and login to have the VIZ check my status, 3400(7/13). Send dealer an email who admits, "oops I was wrong". Today I get a VIN from the VIZ , email it to the dealer saying "Can you confirm". Dealer leaves vm saying how did you do that, we don't even have access yet, do you have insider information....on and on Then tells me once its on the railcar he gets no information. I say that's allright I'll let you know when it will be thereAnyway, point of this rather long-winded story is... you guys have kept me interested, informed, amused (sometimes laughing out loud at some of the stuff you say to each other), and most of all obsessed! Thanks to all! Sadly, my daddy died a month after the car was ordered, but his spirit, or rather his ashes (some anyway) will live on in my brand new 2010 2LT/RS Black on Black Bad Ass Bitchin Camaro!! Thank you for sharing your story!! Very sorry to hear that your father will not be around to see you take delivery of your Camaro, but he'll be up there somewhere smiling down on you when that day comes I'm sure.
