Any complaints with the A/C ???
I have had my new 2012 for 10 days (350 miles) and the A/C is not as cold as it should be. The dealer reprogrammed the car's computer, but it really did not help.
The A/C goes from cold, to semi-cold, then sometimes warm. It feels like the compressor is cycling on and off. The dealer tells me that this is proper behavior. I think it is lousy. Does anyone else have this complaint??? |

I think mine was blowing a little colder after the reprogramming. My girlfriend turned mine off cause it was so cold.

Commits weekly crime
|
My AC works fine...in fact, after a while it gets pretty cold in the car with just 1 or 2 notches of fan power, which is where I keep it most of the time. I am in Seattle, and use A/C when it's in the 60's and 70's. Now, we do get warmer weather, and on the days where it's been in the 80's & 90's, the fan goes up more and it seems to do a fine job. Only thing is...I usually roll down the windows all the time, so the A/C is just there go keep cool air blowing across my face, rather than keep the interior cool.

I'm in Scottsdale, AZ; 112 here today and everyday. Mine works fantastic, so good that I will only use max fan for a minute ot two, then have to back it off. No complaints here.

Is the Camaro A/C a climate control system, or just 'old school' where you have to choose normal or max and a blower speed? If not climate control where you ask for a specific temp, I'm not sure I get what they're 'reprogramming'. The 'manual' A/C in my Mustang pretty well sucks... but the Taurus with climate control is excellent.

I hardly bother with it anymore. 110 here every day and I just roll with the windows down... but not because the AC sucks, because I hate how driving the car with AC on max feels.

My only compliant is that it blows to cold. It makes me mad I cant run it full blast all the time, even on the hottest days. What was GM thinking when they designed the car, they should know everyone wants to run it full blast all the time.

In Denver on those 90+ days mine doesn't seem very cold at all. I run on high out constantly

I added just a small amount of R-134 and it seems to cool a little better, compressor stays on longer, before it was cycling too often. Put a thermometer in the center vent , and after 30 minutes of driving at highway speeds it should read 40 to 43 degrees even in extreme heat.

Mine works just fine and it was hotter than hell a few weeks ago.
It would be safe to assume it will work better once your out on the highway as more air is running over the condensor. I did notice it blows just a bit colder once out of traffic on the hottest of days. I would say it does not suck.....
