That is very interesting marketing. If they could average that with the other vehicles in their fleet, that would make meeting CAFE standards a breeze...

yeah I read that, and you said more to come. Does this mean that it's going to be 3-5 hours for the webcast?

Don't they do that? Isn't the A in CAFE = "Average"?

Apparently not. They talked about future product at the beginning...I guess the product preview was for the press in that room only...

This worries me...

Using development testing based on a draft U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) procedure for plug-in electric vehicles
Now that GM has come out and released a somewhat crazy high number, the EPA very well may revise that draft to make it so that it gets less. But then again, the government wouldn't want to actively help something own fail

I think GM is working with the EPA on this. At least they were last time I heard - and it was because the agency had no idea how to rate a car like the Volt. Which didn't use a DROP of gas during their testing procedure because it was under 40m miles. () Early estimates had it at 100mpg....

And GM wouldn't release a number they thought would be 'countered'....especially on a car this critical.

this is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!
