Clear Bra. Don't go to Tint-King
I got a decent quote $650 from Tint-king.com in Billerica to do my car. They had it last Friday for the whole day. They had so much trouble they didn't even finish and rushed me out of there without even paying or getting my address even. I was supposed to come back this Thursday and let them finish. They had lots of issues with their computer and patterns. Well long story short I found out last night when I was checking out my car why the owner was so anxious to get me out of there.
Looks like they had more trouble than I thought. They deny they did this and I'm gonna have to let the INS company go after them. They refused to even give me their insurance info. There was minor wheel damage too. Looks like they flipped it off the ramp they used to bring the car up to work on or something. Don't know. Many ways they could have done it I guess. Any way you could do this driving does not fit the damage. I know I didnt do it and I know the dealer or transport (rail and hauler) didnt do it. I have pictures to prove this. I speculate they were hoping I wouldnt find the damage and wouldn't come back. One of the last things this guy Brian Timm said to me today was this "You were never here, you never paid me, your not a customer, you were never here" I said good luck with that and left. Too bad they won't do the right thing and admit they did it. Estimate is 2k plus from the dealer and it will get fixed correctly.

That sucks.
Sorry - you didn't know about www.wheeldynamix.com - they rock. They do a lot of the ball players and high profile cars and customers

Sorry to see that; I would sue them.
Your INS company or theirs? If yours, the rates will go up eventually. I had a business try to deny I was there once, I was able to get a copy of their repair bill for the U-hall that I rented and got towed to them; they lost. Lawyer only charged me $50 for his time to send them a letter. BTW Phil, I ended up having mine done at Banks for under $600.

Is the clear-bra vital to get? I live in Billerica myself, so I appreciate the info about TintKing.

Obviously they messed your car up. They didn't want to get paid for the work they did? That seems weird??
Also, didn't they take all your information, i.e. name, address, etc., BEFORE they took the car and did the work? Most of the shops do that before staring any type of work at all. Sounds like they are a shady company. I hope all works out well for you. |

Sorry to hear this. Thank you for alerting the rest of us. I would consult with an attorney on this one. With there denying this it should entitle you to BF those unscrupulous dogs!

Yeah the only thing they had was an e-mail address, my name and a cell phone number. No work order, paperwork or anything. Just e-mail which will, hold up in court now a days.
Definitely shady stuff going on there. First they talked me out how the job was quoted. Then they messed up the work that was done. Then later I found out they weren't even using the material on the quote but gave some story that it was better stuff. Cheaper is more like it. I got conned big time. I'm afraid what else I might find. If there is anything else I havent noticed yet I'll just If only my car where a Transformer or I had a trunk monkey ! Had to add some humor or I'm gonna scream. I read some reviews of them damaging other peoples car's and denying it. Bad work, using cheap material instead of what people paid for, etc.. I wish I saw those before I went there. You know, every damn time I listen to a friend on a place to go I get screwed or something goes wrong. Not usually this bad though. This is just a nightmare. This was the last time. I'll do my own damn research from now on. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad I could help stop it from happening to anybody around this area who reads this thread at least. Come on Google. Make it the top hit. To think, I even setup a guy with my dealer to start doing paint protection at the dealership and I didn't go with them. Tint-King lured me in with a great (false) quote and my friends who happened to have good results on their TINT work. Good God I can't believe I fell for this. Its really not like me

Quote:
Theres a lot of surface area right up in front. After watching our 99 Grand Am's paint deteriorate from driving in Boston, I wanted to do something to protect it from happening to this car. The Grand Am is a black car and the front lower bumper has thousands of little white pock marks. The hood has huge chips and even started rusting. The hood is aluminum on the Camaro so it wouldnt rust.

I have an appointment with Protective Solutions in Hudson when mine comes in.
Anyone deal with them? They quoted me $550 for the hood, fenders, side view mirrors and front bumper and carries a 5 year manufactures warranty from peeling, yellowing and cracking. |

I had my car done by tint king about 2 weeks before you....... there is only 1 spot im going back for them to fix because the material rinkled in the corner above the bumper but below the head light. Im going to go over my car and look at it like crazy now. The tint they did came out perfect though.

And i had read up on them and heard some good things, but also some reviews that didnt sit with me well.....
1) I have a receipt 2) In the reviews i read Brian worried me but there was only like one or two bad reviews the rest were good, but when i had the car done he wasnt there and the other employees were, they were extremely nice. besides that 1 spot there is a tiny spot on two spots of the bumper where the film is not fully covering the bumper......
