2013 Camaro ZL1 Convertible - 630 RWHP - ADM Built

Finally getting around to posting this... On 6/30/2014, I was looking to trade my 2012 Camaro 2SS/RS w/ Bolt-Ons for a 2013 BMW 750LI. I figured I would move up to a 4dr in preparation of having bigger family one day and still have the power. While at the dealer test driving it, I came across this beast, a used 2013 Camaro ZL1 Convertible - Crystal Red Tint Coat. It was completly stock with the exception of the slight cosmetic add ons. After test driving it, I decided I am not yet ready for kids and went for it .. The wife went for the when I came home with another Camaro... After she calmed down , I took her for a joy ride with the top down with ALOT of "I am ", we agreed to wait a lil longer for the kids or get her an Audi Q7

Sooo.... fast forward to a few weeks later, after driving the ZL1, i felt it was extremely sluggish (see base line dyno) compared to my bolt on SS and I was hearing alot of ticking coming from the SC. I took it to the dealer and they gave me the run around and said I was crazy. I found out about the SC issues and took the TSB and they ended up replacing the SC which resolved the ticking but still felt that the car was sluggish. I did the fuse pull and that help a little but was not satisfied with the power. After multiple trips to the dealer and no resolution, I figured I just need to modify it to be satisfied.

After alot of research and harrassing Andy at ADM , I decided my goal will be 600RWHP and he definitly delivered.... !!! I couldnt be more satisfied with the quality of work and customer service Andy provided. This car is a monster !!

Nice! I wonder how that package would do minus the ported heads?

Right on. So minus the heads it should make 630ish on a manual trans car then?

I went with the heads since I didn't go with a bigger CAM. I really wanted to hit that 600 RWHP mark since I have an auto and went with an LS9 CAM. Also, since we were already taking things apart, I figured I might as well get it knocked out.

On your manual, I would think you should see over 600 RWHP without the heads. I think I read somewhere the Auto is like 16% loss from crank.

If your SC was dealer replaced, why did you need a new SC coupling??

Dont the replacement SCs come with a solid coupler?

Tony

It was dealer replaced and there is not really a need to replace the coupler but some people do say that the lingenfelter solid coupler is better than the stock. It was part of the ADM package which we tweaked added/changed some items.

Definitely enjoy having the option to put the top down and cruise around. Glad I made the choice. Helps compensate for my urge to buy a motorcycle. Haha

Been waiting on this one. Perfection as usual and great numbers through the auto.

The Magnaflow sounds really good too.

It does sound amazing with the headers and stock NPP. Andy's idea and glad I did it.

Definitely good choice!!! I had a 2007 GSXR 1000 and it got stolen twice. Recovered in parts the first time and after putting it back together it got stolen again. Been wanting another but with the ZL, it satisfies my urge to get one for now.

Wife doesn't know about the upgrades. She thinks it's just the CAI..... Shhhhhh haha
