Durablilty of the LT w/2LT

Wife is considering one and I have no experience with how this motor holds up (packing on miles) and what some of the negatives / positives about the six cylinder vs the V8, other than the gas mileage. Also, do all the new V6 LT's have the LFX motor, not sure what the difference is though.

She has just started a job working away from home and has been driving my SS for a month, now she wants her own Camaro

Thanks for any replies.

All the V6's are LFX engines- same as what is used in the Colorado, Impala etc except for minor differences in HP etc. Great engine, very few issues. I always thought the starter placement is asking for starter failures over time but apparently I'm wrong.
Advantages? Well, other than fuel economy... can't think of one besides less cost. I could have any Camaro I want and I ended up with the 6 because it's just for a "fun" commuter and not trying to prove anything on the street.
I have not seen any issues on the LFX yet, other than I heard of a hand full of them the first year out had a couple problems with coolant consumption. Never witnessed an issue on them since I've been with the brand other than the occasional external part failure. I own two cars with LFX engines and enjoy them both. Strangely, my new Impala really feels as if it pulls faster than my 15 Camaro- although the Camaro allegedly has 20HP more.

VTSummit -- have to agree with you on the Impala. Had a rental and I thought the same thing. I really enjoyed the Impala, but it go caught in a flash flood and now have a Camry instead that I have to drive from California to Texas! Big letdown!!

The 2014.5/2015 Impala is a REALLY impressive car. I put some nice Michelins on it and it holds high speed turns as well as the A6 I had before it. Pulls like a V8... wish the Camaro had that same feel. I'll run the Impala against the Camaro and see which is faster, but it feels like the Impala would be the victor... which goes against all the specs.

I'm getting ready to turn 20k on my 13 LFX 1LS with zero issues. I drive her in a very spirited manner as well with lots of shifting around 5 or 6k. This car is like crack; I can't help myself! No regrets.

I'm going to test the two cars and see- maybe the Impala just "feels" faster... but even my wife thinks the same thing. It's a wonderful car to drive, they knocked it outta the park on that car.

Mine's still holding together and I'm constantly torture testing it!

I bet the Impala does feel faster even though it's not, these Camaros are so solid they don't feel as fast as they are. I could cruise at 100 no problem if I was allowed.

Test drove one tonight CRT - RS w/duel-mode exhaust and was impressed. Thinking that tomorrow is the end of the month, so might cruse over and see what we can work out.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

That's like the difference between the bone stock L99 and our LFX. We just need a bit more torque!

Thank again for all the comments it really helped us out making a decision. Wifee is now driving a CRT - 2LT/RS and we really like it. Started washing/clay baring and waxing it tonight but had to cut it short and go for a ride!
