State Farm.

I wondered if it could have been deformed... there is some curve to it from top to bottom of A Pillar, but perhaps too much

Yeah, the shop is supposed to call me on monday, and stop out and look at it. I hope I don't have to fight much. ... when I talked to the shop this afternoon, first thing guy asked was if there was an adjustment on the HUD... duh there is not a focus adjustment! He said he's never had a problem with HUD's in 17 years...

wondering if they didnt put the actual hud display glass in it. a regular windshield will work but it will be distorted.

just thinking while typing. that probably not the case.

not all the time, rememeber the 1288 and 1289? regardless of which windshield you put, the HUD looked the same... my guess is there is a mechanical problem with the HUD unit.. i bet if they used an Extractor, the vibration caused the projection unit to get out of focus or something..

the only vibration came from some kind of flat bladed reciprocating saw thingy... used it in both lower corners of the windshield ?

I would be surprised that this would damage the HUD though, and other bumps/driving would not?

If i lean forward and crane my neck just a bit, it's clear as it should be.

I was at a camaro club meet yesterday, and my windshield is actually slightly above the top edge of the windshield recess in the body... it used to sit below it... it certainly looks like it's mispositioned or has too much urethane sealant.

were they supposed to let the windshield weight seat the urethane, or push it in?

the last one i did i taped it in place where it sat from the factory... it's possible the windshield is defective, which they could order a new one and dry set it... now that i know this could be a problem i will dry set on the 2011 HUD Camaros... you can't fault the glass company for this, it's not something they can test prior to taking out the old one..

could it really be defective if it is clear if i move where looking through it?
Could the extra urethane be causing the issue if it pushed the windshield off angle? It's sitting further out at the top of the window than at the bottom, at least by looking at how it sits along the A-pillar.

further complication is that I did not let them use the Pilkington, I had them order the GM glass, since it was $15 more than the Pilkington.
