V6 to V8 gas/ Got offered this....

So those of you who went from llt or lfx to an Ls3 and use it as a DD to commute do you notice that big of a difference is the gas mileage? I have about 45000 miles on my Ls and commute 400 a week but the 3.6 with bolt on's just isn't as fun as it first was.

Ok guys tips on this deal....29k synergy green 2ss 15 k miles. trade in my Ls with 45k miles in for 16k am I crazy? Or is that ok?

I averaged 29 in my 2010 2LT and now I average about 22 in my 2011 2SS (mostly highway). You'll notice a difference because of the lower mpgs and having to put in premium, but it if you can afford to upgrade, my guess is you can afford the extra cost in gas.

It all depends on the type of driving you plan on doing and your style may not match other owners. Someone who drags every gear out in a V6 may be close to someone who conservatively drives the V8. In the grand scheme of things I can't imagine the difference in gas price being a reason to buy one or the other.

Well I found a synergy green 2ss 2011 it has all the widgets too it's not just the mpg but I consider it a major factor because this would be my DD

17.4 mpg (per DIC) in mixed driving, mostly city on 32 mile roundtrip commute. Premium only. You are probably looking at another $1K per year in fuel, but do your own math.

Yea I put premium in my ls already. Part of this is that I'm selling my GSXR 1000. At the time I bought my V6 that was my way of justifying it because of all the power that little toy has. So now that that's about to be gone I have some extra cash.

I drive my car around 40-55mph on average with an average amount of stoplights. I get between 16-17mpg.

I also drive super "coast like" in the morning, but the in the afternoon I always have this mentality to just floor it all the time.

You don't need reasons to justify that you want a V8! If I want a V8 I just go for it! That simple... That's going to make you happy! That's what matter!

Exclamation

I'm on the fence V6 or V8, I like the V8 but is it worth the higher MSRP and gas and lower gas miliage???
