Oh, and do I absolutely need "Z" rated tires, and "run flats"?

Yes, but that $1300 includes installation, balancing, etc. is that still too much?

If I did order online, I have no idea where I'd take the tires to get them installed! I'm sure these tire shops would only install their own tires?

Did you have your dealership install them? Would a dealership in calgary install tires I bought elsewhere?

Thanks everyone. Was hoping to take the camaro to red deer tomorrow, but now I'm all worried about the tires, so it's going to stay parked until she gets some new shoes.

47,000 km on those tires is absolutely awesome! Great job. It goes to show how you treat your car. My friend didn't even make 8000 km before he replaced his first set of rears? (It was his first Camaro!)I was at 22,500 on my 2ss\rs when I traded it for my ZL1. I'm thinking I could have got to 40,000 before replacing.

Alright, I'm going to go tire hunting again tomorrow.

My list so far is:
Nitto Motivo
Nitto Invo
Gmax as-03
Falken 452

Going to try and get quotes from OK Tire, Fountain, kal, blaskin and lane, Midas, tire craft, etc

Namala at davenport recommended some falkens, but I'm also liking the motivo and gmax tires. Since my tread is basically gone, it will come down to who can get what the fastest for the cheapest

Thanks again everyone for the help!

Perilli P Zero = UTQG: 220 AA A (Summer Only)
Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 = UTQG:280 AA A (Summer Only)
Goodyear Eagle GT = UTQG: 400 AA A (All Season)
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval AS = UTQG: 400 A A (All Season)
Continental Extreme Contact DWS = UTQG: 540 A A (All Season)

Here's a good site for description of tires:

More Info: Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG) Uniform Tire Quality Grading is a relative comparison system. Tires are graded by manufacturers in three areas: treadwear, traction and temperature.

The treadwear grade is a comparative rating based on the wear of a tire when tested carefully under controlled conditions. For example, a tire graded 400 should have its useful tread last twice as long as a tire graded 200. Treadwear grades are only valid for comparisons within a manufacturer's product line.

Traction grades represent the tire's ability to stop on wet pavement as measured under controlled conditions on asphalt and concrete test surfaces. As of 1997, the traction grades from highest to lowest are "AA","A","B" and "C". The grades do not take into consideration the cornering or turning performance of a tire.

Temperature grades represent a tire's resistance to heat and its ability to dissipate heat when tested under controlled laboratory test conditions. The grades from highest to lowest are "A","B" and "C" . The grade "C" corresponds to the minimum performance required by federal safety standard.

WHAT IS TPMS?
