Do you have the revised part number that is the "fix"?

Having mine replaced this week, found a GREAT dealer who values customer input.

Hi Funk,

Had mine done last week and it's perfect again. I'm with a new dealer now (thank goodness). The new dealer found the new part and replaced it in 30 minutes from my pulling into to the dealer till leaving with a smile on my face. Work order references a bulletin: PIC5718C. Perhaps mention to your dealer?

New piece is... BUBBLING. Not as much as previous piece, but still does it. Sigh...

I've got a new one, the back edge of my console compartment lid is starting to curl up.

Bumping an old one, here. I stopped following this early on, as my car is a 2013, and we thought it was a 12-only problem then.

My car is a garage queen with 5300 miles and off bumper to bumper by now. Noticed the bubbles yesterday. Damn.

Did the fix stay fixed long-term? Can anyone help me out with a part number? I have IOM interior. Can't recall, but is my stitching different there, too?

Dealer can still get me 22880758 with IOM stitching. Do you guys think this has the better glue or whatever the solution was?

I never had the dealer do anything with mine. I had one spot, just to the right of the center stack, that was approx 3/4 inch by 1 1/2 inches and it raised approx 1/16 inch. To me, it wasn't worth the other potential problems resulting from removal of the dash. Hasn't gotten any worse in the 6 years since it first appeared. I don't even notice it anymore; it's part of the aging process--like the skin cancer on my own body!

Regardless, I want to fix mine. Anyone with more info, including the repair procedure, which isn't supposed to require dash removal, please chime in!

That entire leather/vinyl piece is separate from the dashboard. They pop it out and put in a new piece. No need to take out the dashboard at all.

Have you done it? Happen to have a copy of the dealer bulletin? I am a former pro body man, so I'm capable of anything, but it is really easy to break or scratch interior stuff if you are not familiar with the design.

I just replaced mine with the z28 dash, super easy. You pop the top plastic trim above the AC vents. Then there are about 7 or 8, 7mm (I think) bolts holding it on. Take those off, then just pry from one side to the other. Leather piece and AC vents come out at once. The AC vents are bolted to it so they are not seperate
