This is why you can't rely 1000% on remotes

Actually ran into this issue last week coming home from the HRPT. Years ago (non-Camaro days) we had a certain part of the parking lot at work where nobody could get their remotes to work at all. Wonder how the keyless cars handle this.

My car isn't a daily driver, so there's no extra keys on it. What they should probably worry about is the rental companies that force you to have both keys on one giant key ring. So annoying.

Only once in 3 years & 10 months to see if the key worked in the lock.

On the news they were saying the recall is because the car turns off on its own. A bump on the road or something can cause the key to turn.

Also a quote from a news article.

"GM says the switches can unexpectedly move out of the "run" position if the cars are jarred, such as by going over railroad tracks or a pothole. That can shut off the engines and disable power steering."

Or, how many people would you run into?

When I heard about this issue, I checked the distance between my knee and the FOB - I have 6" in normal driving position and I don't lift my knee anywhere near the key when driving. I can understand the liability concern that Chevy has considering current events, but I'm keeping my key!

Tested it when I bought the car to make sure it worked. Other than that. Never.

If anybody would complain about that happening it would be the 1LE guys. Roughest ride in the group except maybe the z/28.

I do not believe that recall is for the Camaro. The Camaro recall is for the key ONLY. There is yet ANOTHER recall that effects other cars. The key that was pictured earlier is ONE solution for a different recall.
