Thanks for the replies!

It's true that most of them are my personal opinion, that's why I want to know yours too
To be honest, the most thing that bothers me is, why does the Charger has way "cheaper" price than the Camaro? I mean for the same price I can get a more well-equipped and more powerful engine... I thought it must be something related to the brand itself, which made me thought Dodge is not as reliable as Chevy, or its value may drop off a cliff for a couple years (I'm planning to use it for around 4-5yrs), in this case.

Even a lot of my relatives just "skipped" or "avoided" Chrysler Group (chrysler, dodge, ram, etc.) cars when they were looking for a new car. I also have heard the issue of the Pentastar engine...

Anyway, I agree that the new chargers look really great, though. If I decide to get it, I'll get the 100th Anniversary Edition
But the Camaros are still more eye-catching than the Chargers they attract more people's attention (including mine of course ) ,

As for the suggestion on getting a used one, let me know if you've seen one in my area, I can't find a 2013 in my area :(

Thanks!

I looked at Chargers a bit before getting my Camaro and frankly, imo, I made the right choice. It's all down to preference really, but for me the manual transmission was a must and the Charger didn't even offer it. They're nice cars though (esp the newest models).

Here's my opinion. I have a 2012 Charger V6 (SXT) and a 2012 Camaro V6 2LT/RS (wife's). The Charger has a different ride and I'm not saying it in a bad way. The ride is smoother and won't jar your kidneys although it's still very stable and responsive. We originally purchased the Charger because it can comfortable seat our family of 5. The Camaro not so much. The Camaro is harder to get in and out of and the controls for radio/interior is not as straight forward (Seems like the electronics were and afterthought). The Bluetooth also doesn't sound as well. The R/T Charger will be quicker but, not by a whole lot. At least not as much as others may think. The car weighs around 500 lbs more and only has about 20 more hp, but quite a bit more torque. Insurance for the Charger will also be more because of the V8 and R/T badge. I do like both platforms but, for different reasons. Reliability will be similar possibly and edge to the Charger since the motor has been around for while longer. All of your other points seem spot on. Visibility in the Camaro is tough but, with the backup camera, it's fine. If you have questions, please let me know.

You're problem is that you have heard a lot of incorrect information about Chrysler. Mine have been the most reliable cars i have owned and I have owned a LOT of GM cars too. Also, what pentastar V6 issues? From what i have seen they are extremely reliable (there was an early recall in 11 for a bad batch, but most hadn't even been sold and were replaced before a customer even got their hands on them, but that is it). The LX cars easily hold their values as well as the Camaro. Anyways, diver them both and buy the one that you like best.

You're information is way off on some things. the R/T will be way quicker the SS. Yes, the weight difference (closer to 300-400 pounds) is steep, but it is a much bigger car. the has 323 HP, the Charger 372, a 49 HP difference. the torque difference is well over 100 pound feet too. A well driven R/T can hit mid 13s or better, a V6 Camaro is a mid 14 second car with the manual and slower with the auto.

Stew, here's a few facts you can find on the web. The V6 camaro 1/4 mile (14.2), the SS 13.2, the charger R/t 13.9. The SS by a leading company report should beat the R/T. This isn't me or my opinion. But, it's still a drivers race. As for the difference between the cars mentioned in this post. The weight difference (again not me), the V6 Camaro weighs 3800 and the Charger R/T 4253 lbs. So I wasn't too far off by a guess. Horsepower to weight, the camaro wins by a small margin but, the advantage easily goes to the Charger. The earlier chargers had only 340hp. If you were looking at the all wheel drive, the 1/4 mile times are even slower.

I do have both cars with the V6. I like the Camaro on curvy roads because it handles much better but for a daily driver, the Charger is nicer. That my 2 cents.

I just did a quick search and you can get a brand new Charger RT for as little as 24K and a brand new Camaro SS for as little as 31K. You just have to shop around. I wouldn't consider the V6 for 33k.

Personally I would take a 1SS over a loaded V6 any day but that's just me and the RT can be had pretty loaded for 33K and that was what I was trying to get at.

This is so true. You should be able to score a very low mileage like new 12/13 SS for well under 30k, if you look hard. If you can live with a 10/11 model mid to low 20s. 33k for the 6cyl is just too much and you will regret not getting the V8 at some point.
If you have to have new a 1SS with a few options should be 31k.

The Charger RT while a bit underpowered IMO is still a very nice car, great looks, and interior.

The Daytona R/T's were pretty damn nice. Could have gotten a 13 real cheap when they were having DEEP incentives on the 13's.
