Anyone got 3" lap belt in their Camaro?

I'd like to install a 3" lap belt on my Camaro.

Has anyone done this? What's the best way to attach the lap belt? I just had a look and the rear seat track bolts to the floor looks to be the best bet. However, I worry about tilting the entire seat up too much in the rear and also I really don't want the lap belt in the car all the time.

Any ideas??

Found this item on another post. Looks promising, but it's as much as a lap belt.

I bought the CG-Lock for running at the road track this year and I love it!! I actually just leave it in there all the time and run it on the street as well.

Thanks, Speed74SS. I think I'll get the CG-Lock too. Having the lap belt loose on the floor is not something I want.

These are a 6-point Schroth Hybrid II, with Speedware Motorsports Harness Bar. I would NOT recommend 3" lap belts, they are not going to sit right. Just my opinion though.

I also have the CG locks for street driving. On the race track I still slid around using the CGs

Speedware Motorsports builds them. Speak with Tony Pletcher @
425-869-5680 - Tell him John Micalizio from Boynton Beach told you abouth them.

There is an adapter plate bolted into shouldber location, then the harness bar connects to them. The supports bolt to the harness bar then to the floor anchor point for factory belts. NO MODIFACATIONS TO THE CAR.
There is a set of TANK plates sandwiched under the seat tracks.

The belts are Schroth 6-point Hybrid II

I'll have more pictures soon. I am busy fabricating some front brake cooling ducts.

To answer spefically.
NO CUTTING
NO WELDING
NO DRILLING
If I need the back seats - 4 bolts and it can be taken out

SIX POINT HARNESS (Schroth 6-Point Hybrid II) - If I need to be attached to the seat any better, I may have to graft my ass to the leather.

i sunk 2 lag bolts into the floor behind the driver's seat to secure the lap belt and sub straps to. I have speedware motorsports harness bar for the shoulder straps. I am adding a roll cage over the winter. I want the added security of a full cage and proper mounting points.

The Tank plate from speedware motorsports uses the rear stock seat mount bolts and gives you the anchor points for the lap and sub straps. it's made to be integrated with the harness bar for the shoulder straps.

It's your only solution for no drilling/no welding/etc.
