Typically buying a CAI online might be beneficial especially now the holiday season is approaching us...

CAI brand is THE way to go. You'll forget all about the cost after a bit, and the proven results are better than the cheaper ones the other posters are talking about. I'm not even sure why others are even bothering to buy any other brand.
In my LFX, I also put in a scoop and a window washer bottle relocation kit. Total, I paid more than everybody on this thread so far...and I don't care. It's worth it. At last the temperatures are falling in Phoenix and I can occasionally drive with the windows down and the a/c off. I do not have an aftermarket exhaust, yet I am amazed by the kick-ass sound my car makes above about 4500 rpm; it's freaking loud and very throaty. Love it. John B.

You received an intake worth $230. A CAI brand is better...proven.

I'm not familiar with the V-8 differences, only the LFX, so I may be speaking out of turn. I'll try to link to it.

Some K&N for V6 are gone to get you a cell. I tried 2 different ones and had the problem each time. But, my car is a very early production serial no. 602 (2010) and I understand that later production engenins don't have the same problem.

According to the chart I posted the link to above, adding the scoop nets some very nice gains as well.
The Injen short ram does not impress me. Might as well leave it stock, IMO. One other thing to consider: Every wash off your engine compartment? Only a cai with a lid will keep you from having to bag your filter first. Small point, but all the better for lazy me. John B. |

heres the one for the v6 JRE tests
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...mc&hl=en#gid=0 now the Cai and the injen have the best numbers. however that doesnt include Vararam that wasnt released at the time of this test. and honestly, is the 6hp and 3tq they gained between the Cai and K&N really worth all the extra money you spent more then my 240 K&N? its not like on the streets your gonna feel those extra 6 hp and 3 tq lol . and also you can use a scoop with the K&N. But for the record Vararam is the way to go, cost less then the CAI, let alone if you pay the extra money for the scoop. |
