Maybe it's just me but I love reading and going through the v6 journals.
I guess there are so many SS' out there and I personally just ordered a 2LT Non RS so it hits more at home with me. How do you like the quarter flares? I originally planned to get them but slowly wasn't sure to the point I removed them from my planned order to save a little on the payment and figure If I finally wanted them I could just buy from Maureen at rogers.. |

I like the V6 threads too! The flares are great. I don't mind the looks at all and they have done a great job to minimize paint damage on the sides of my car. No new chips since I installed them last year.

Minor update.
I called Factory Reproductions and had my CARD IN HAND to order four 20x9 polished ZL1 wheels with 275/40R20 Nexen rubber mounted all around. They were out :( So close! However, after seeing the new silver/machine finish they may add, I'm glad I missed out. I fully intend on ordering the ZL1 Replicas in a silver or polished finish with the wide (23MM) offset so they will come out to the edge of the fenders. Just have to wait for stock to come in :( It's gonna look so cool. I'm trying to keep an OEM look. I'm not much for extravagant mods and prefer parts and pieces that either are GM made, or look like something they would have done. 'Less is more'. But, I did add my trunk blackout decals and put my rear bowtie back on with the center painted red. I will try to do the front bowtie the same this weekend. Before: Meh, kinda plain. Mo' betta. This is the one with the little pieces that go between the brake lights too.

Thanks.
Yea, I'm no stranger to cars. If it wasn't under warranty and needed a timing chain set, or engine or trans swap, I would be handling it myself. No dealers or shops here once the mileage runs out.

Thanks. This was my first brand new car. I plan on framing the window sticker and including a little list of mods to bring with me to shows and get togethers for the heck of it. I don't commonly enter the car anywhere since it's mostly stock, but it would be cool to have when I go places with the local club or fundraiser shows.

Look what I found!
Hah, nah, it's not that exciting. BUT, very helpful. Hopefully soon I will order some lights for the interior of the car. I probably won't be using colored lighting as I tend to be more function over form, and some good white light is something the inside of this black interior car (and its piss poor dome light) really need. The switch is just a door switch from an old pickup truck and I will use this on the glovebox door to turn a light on/off inside. I am also planning on a light in each foot well (front and rear). I may also add some additional lighting in the trunk. I also thought a lighting strip along the bottom of each door would be great as well, but I'm not sure if there is a suitable wire to tire into in the door.

Well. I want some more useful lighting (as mentioned previously). I scanned several websites for products.
Problem I found. Most people have flexible ribbon lights. I personally don't care for them. No good way to attach them and they look a little cheap. the tube lights I have found, I'm not crazy about their perceived build quality. However, I prefer the tube and their mounting options and durability. Then I remembered these people - On Scene Solutions I build fire trucks for a living and do all the electrical work, emergency lights, etc and we use the for the interior compartment lights on fire trucks 90% of the time. They have been extremely reliable and I have seen trucks come back from the field with the light tubes beat to hell and broken loose from their brackets and still working. These are also warrantied for 5 years free replacement. So, while it's not cheap....at $100 total for two 10" lights in the foot well, a 6" for the glove box, and a 30" for the trunk, it's reliable and I know the product first hand from 5 years of working with them. I wanted to put some lights in the rear foot wells but I don't see a good place to put them and probably won't need the light often enough anyway. American made, too http://onscenesolutions.com/Access-LED-P99C20.aspx ALSO I ordered a 1LE Style Separator from Tracy at RX. Looking forward to that arriving.

A real update. Ordered several parts this week. These were the first to arrive!
Part of me wants to mount these on the stock tires. The other part wants to order some wider and more aggressive looking 265/50R18 Nittos...

NEW STUFF!
Well, here is an overall look from today. New Camaro script badges from Emblem Pros, American Racing TQ M wheels on stock tires (18x9) and factory Chevrolet door sill panels. Also a neat Mobil 1 plate. I'm loving the older school retro look I'm bringing to the car. GM Chevrolet door sills Mobil 1 plate. Stumbled on this by complete accident. The cool thing is, I really do run Mobil 1 5W-30 Full Synthetic so the piece is a nice touch plus being truly informative.

Tough crowd
My SLP flat black ghost gills showed up. I may let the decal guy at work install them. I don't want to mess them up. I also ordered the PAC adapter so I can add an amp to the car and upgrade my speakers. I'm just going to use a brand new older Pioneer 2 channel I have laying around and put in some Kicker components perhaps. I'm not a huge audiophile, the stock speakers just aren't good. My old '05 crew cab Silverado had Phoenix Gold comps in the front doors and Pioneer coaxial in the rear with no amp and was leaps and bounds better than stock, so I'm sure I will be happy with this.

I like the wheels, remind me of the Cragar SS from the 70's
