Bad "start" to a new relationship

So,after much saving and waiting I get a new 45 SS.Three days into the
courtship it won't start,so I call the dealer as anyone would. They have it towed in(which i'm not happy about" and proceed to fix the issue.

They call me and say after "wiggle'n" a few relays and charging the battery it fired right up.The next day i hop in it and the same thing happens,so I pop the hood and make sure the relays are still seated.
Everything looks in order and this time I call them with a little more fire
in my voice. They downplayed the issue, noting that it was'nt anything major.

I was wondering if when they charged the battery if it resets anything,
because all my settings went back to factory settings and allowed it to start.

Thanks for any help,
bryce

BryceB, CONGRATS on the new ride.....and sorry you're having an issue with it.Hope you get it all worked out fast and soon.

oh and btw......Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

First welcome and congrats!!!

Now when you say it won't start is it trying to turnover or is it doing nothing at all?

Just a click...but all the bells and whistles come on,lights, radio, etc.
I called ONSTAR out of curiosity and the diagnostic said it was a communication
issue. After mi left the dealer it started up four times..just nothing the next day.

I know one thing,I'm not letting them haul it again. If its that "simple"
they can drive three minutes to my house and start it.There has got to be a bad relay or connection.
thanks again.

I had a similar situation, although mine is not new and has about 14k miles on it. I didn't drive it for about 3 weeks and when I went to start it, nothing, just clicks. All the lights and bells were on so the battery wasn't completely dead. Since I have an M6 and live on a hill, I was able to push start it. It started right up. I drove it for a while and seems fine since then. I just don't let it sit too long between starts.

Yours may have a weak battery. Anyway just a thought and congrats on the new car.

Bad battery. It could have a bad cell and not holding a charge. put it on a battery charger and see if you can start it. If so it is the battery and dealer needs to fix it.

That sucks. I can't imagine that it was sitting on the dealers lot for a long time either since it's a 2012.

Well, the first time it happened I tried boosting it off and it wouldnt start.
I do know the dealer re-charged the battery and I assume they did it before they checked the relays.Im gonna request that they give me a new battery and see if it will start.I just know that it wouldnt after I boosted it.
Thanks.

Press them to fix it correctly and if they don't call GM customer service.
Also if you tried to start it off a jump box and it didnt start it isnt your battery. Don't know how tech savvy you are but if you can get it to where it's not starting again try jumping the starter relay and see if that makes it start. Though really it's brand new make them fix it lol.
