My 1SS auto is fine. Plenty of power, response, and best all, traffic is no problem like a 6 speed is.
Right because you would be perfectly ok running 7 seconds to 60 right?

Most of these cars are running fine. There are a few who just plain aren't. No reason not to order one.

But your car is running faster now though, right? I'd still like to see a REAL 1/4 mile run with a REAL time slip run at the same time with the iphone app (video too if you'd like). Then we can see if the iphone is accurate. I can tell for sure counting a 0-60 run in a video is nothing short of completely useless unless we have REAL numbers to go with it. I still think most of the problems are with people LAUNCHNG the car and the HOT weather. I have not seen any evidence to refute my belief.

If you have a slightly bad launch Torque Management will take over and you will be as slow as a pig. I don't think there is a lot of room for error, to me it seems like you need to be in the sweet spot of the rpms to launch hard. I got absolutely walked by my friend's Chllenger R/T the first time we raced. The next four races I destroyed him, the only difference was the first race I could feel Torque Management holding the car back.

I too believe that the humidity and heat can make a difference. But NOT a second and a half difference. I have yet to do a good timed run with the iPhone app AND a video. I don't think a video run is worthless. Some have been taped and come up with the speeds we expect. No, I wouldn't call them conclusive but I'd call them as accurate as the iPhone app. There is a video around here of a car they put on a dyno then went to the track and got officiai times with the iPone app in the car during the timed run and they showed the iPhone as being more accurate the the G-Tech. Don't know how honest the guys in the video are but it was interesting.

Oh and I'm not sure if my car is running better. If the iPhone app is accurate even within half a second then yes my car is running better. I need to get it to the track. Don't know when I'll be able to do it.

That's a pretty good time for summer in the deep South. You should correct it for the DA at your track when you ran.

My guess is it would be a 13.3-13.4 @ 106- 107mph run.

Also post up your full time slip on the Fastest 1/4 mile times thread so we can added to the list.

I got a 4.96 0-60 using a 10 year old Gtech Pro in my stock L99 with 660 miles. I don't remember how accurate it is but good for testing before & after modifications to see if you gained anything. Traction control off, transmission in sport mode, and 1200 RPM launch.

Best run so far has been 5.00 dead even in S, with the nannies on, at about 1500 miles, here in Florida's wonderful 90F/90% weather.

So yeah, no problems on mine.

I'm not trying to disparage anyone who is actually having problems, but I wonder how many people have done a single timed launch, come up with a disappointing number, and never tried again under different conditions, or a different launch type.

Again, I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular, as obviously some people have had or are having problems, and just want them resolved, but the reason I say this is that I've also had disappointing 0-60 times (>6.5 sec) in addition to some good times (<5.2), and I'm wondering if some people just haven't found the optimum launch, combined with perhaps some rather nasty weather conditions.

0-60 runs should be in the 4.7-4.9 for it to be considered good times with the automatic. 5.0-5.3 0-60 is about what the LS2 in the GTO bone stock would get..
