Backwards Calipers

My car came in today, but I won't get it till Saturday.

I did notice why it's so hard to get wheels that fit. The calipers are backwards !! Why the heck are the pistons on the OUTside of the rotors ? I've never seen this on any other car. The brake lines are hanging out there to get sheared at the first sight of road debris.

What advantage could there be for this design ? Better cooling perhaps, but how much gain could there be.........

the pistons are on both sides of the rotor, 4 piston calipers(mounted solid)

you do not have to worry about the brake lines connecting the caliper 1/2's,, many performance cars are set up the exact same way

Bingo! Brembo 4 piston calipers and vented discs at all four corners.
