Oil pressure sensor reading high

Hey everybody so hopefully I can get some advice from you guys. I'm pretty sure the oil pressure sensor went out because even when the car is off it's a reading at least 80 and when the car is on it's at almost 120 PSI but the car is running perfectly fine so that's why I figured it's the sensor. Should I be able to drive the car back and forth to work? I wouldn't be able to get the part until Monday and wait until Thursday to install it?

Others have had to replace them I guess they are a PITA because of the location at the back of the intake manifold close to it so you may need a special tool, and may want to check the electrical connection to it. Good Luck, sounds like the sensor. And its just a simple R/R but tight space due to the engine compartment.

This happened on my 2012 SS after 1 year purchased new. Replaced with an aftermarket brand oil pressure sender, the OEM GM ones are complete JUNK on these GEN4 LS motors. I personally know more than 5 people who have had issues between 5th gens and GM trucks.

Tele-tale sign is when off but key on if its reading maxed out or half (anything but 0) theirs an issue. Obviously like the previous poster said make sure the wires arent damaged (i doubt they are).

Just had to put one on the Tahoe about 2 months ago. Was reading zero on start up. Had no ticking or knocking so I drove it across the street to parts store and changed it in the parking lot. Not that bad but still a pita. Was cold, had been 150 miles and worked that day. A short handle ratchet, short extension, wobble adapter, and the correct socket made it pretty straight forward. Just not much room on the truck engine to get at it.

Edit - Haven't looked on the Camaro to see where its at yet, or better yet, what all is in the way of it.

Ok yeah it was the sensor pretty easy honestly, just as easy as an oil change.

went out on mine sometime last year. Was reading high all the time then one day ZERO. My friend has smaller hands. Took 15 minutes to do the job. I think it was a 27mm deep socket, 3" extension with a universal joint and rachet is all the tools needed and patience

I removed my intake more than 15x. I think I can do it in 15mins. Engine bay has been cleaned up so it is easier to work on.

So remove intake unless you have a fried with very small hands.
