When to change filter
I have a CIA intake and I think I put on around 5,000 miles, I am now at almost 17. How often do I change the filter? And how do I do it? Do i just clean the existing one or buy a new one? I sound like a newbie haha

you clean the existing one. as for when, it depends on the driving conditions. if you live in the desert, probably more often than in a less dusty area. pretty much just have to gauge it yourself. if you have extra time, it doesn't hurt to clean it out.

I'd say you should clean it about every 15k miles or every third oil change. CAI sells a cleaning/recharging kit to clean the filter.

It's been 3 years for me and mine still looks new so i havent cleaned it. If shipping wasn't outrageous on their recharge kit I would have cleaned it sonner.

that's why I prefer a dry filter. no need to use oils or anything. just take it off, spray if off with water, let it dry, put it back on, and floor it.
