Hi folks,

Really been enjoying the forum. Lots of very knowledgeable people here, and I appreciate how generous some are with their knowledge!

I picked up a 2SS last week. A8, sunroof, MRC, Nav, NPP Exhaust, 20" low gloss black aluminum wheels

LOVE this car. I have not owned a V8 since around 1985 when I had a '68 Skylark with a 350 in it. Still kicking myself over selling it, but I needed the money.

Since then, I have had a variety of four and six cylinder vehicles, most currently a Jeep Liberty which is great for snow or cargo. Most of my vehicular energy over the years has been put into motorcycles. I love to ride.

I did own a roached out 1969 Camaro with the straight 6 from about '78-81, and loved it. Wasn't fast, but it delivered good fuel economy and was quite reliable. Left me with a soft spot for Camaros. When the 5th gen came out, I was quite taken with it, since it reminded me of my '69, but not in a position to do anything about it.

So, until now, I had never owned a performance car, in spite of learning to drive at the age of seven in a 1962 Corvette with the 327 and 4-speed, and a love of all things fast. Life just seemed to take me in other directions.

Recent life events made me realize that life is short. I realized that I was in a position where I could actually have a fast car if I wanted one, and so I thought if not now, when will I ever do it, because I am within shouting distance of 60 years old. So, I poked around, did a lot of reading, asked a lot of questions here (thanks again for such good info! ) and pulled the trigger. For me, this needs to be a daily driver, except for really bad weather, when I will take the Jeep. My commute is about 40 miles each way of heavy stop-and-go traffic, so with my lousy knees a manual was a no go.

Anyway, glad to be a member here, and looking forward to being a part of things, and being able to contribute as I gain in knowledge and experience with the car.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Sweet ride!

I'm from northern Mass myself, just 30 minutes north of Boston. Joined here just last week and already had a very warm welcome by many members.

And another Jeep owner, to boot.

Yeah, this is a great site. Many posts about all kinds of stuff. I just wish I were better at searching for things.
