I see, well i have to pay for my insurance and car payment whether i ask for help from my parents or not cuz they cant help me...so im paying my current car (HHR) and paying for my college education but im also get scholarships which pays my community college for now but idk wat'll happen when i go to a university...thanks for your input guys! And eventhough some people think that getting help from your parents does not show responsibility i dont think thats always true i just wish i could have some help. either way im still debating on a LT or 2LT or SS...

For the record, ever since me and my brother were 3, we were told that if we did well in school and go on to University, we get the car we like. It was motivation and it worked great, brother got a Mustang and is going to medschool this year, and im on my way to becoming a Police Officer so all is well.
Ill be doing the same for my kids when im older as long as they hold their end of the deal
yeah i know what you mean, i got my first car as sort of a gift but have to pay it now that i have a job lol jk jk...it was just temporary help from my family

The good thing about paying your own insurance is that it makes you more responsible when it comes to driving, you wont be speeding when your insurance is 615 a month, can you imagine if i ever got a speeding ticket? I dont want to imagine.
you pay $615 a month? or every 6 mnths? cuz i had my mom call our insurance which is state farm and they said $970 every 6 months

Wow! I don't want to get in your chili or anything, but did you shop around for insurance at all? I'm paying about $67 a month for insurance on my camaro, granted I'm many years older than you, but still.

I'm 18 and have a 2SS/RS and I don't pay a penny but I made a deal with my dad that if I did good in sports, he would buy me one... my dad cried when I told him I got all-state in football lol

Kudos to you for paying for what you're driving. Paying = ownership. I know some people, young AND old, that have to sacrifice to pay for their rides. Needless to say, they respect and look after their cars!
Oh, and age means nothing to me. I personally know an 18-year-old who owns an LS, and a 36-year-old buddy who owns a 2LTRS. The 18-year-old takes MUCH better care of his Camaro than my buddy. It's what you do, not what you say, that matters. There are PLENTY of teenagers out there more responsible than most "adults" I know.

All I know is that when I turned 8 my parents bought me a bike, which I then proceeded to thrash the s*** out of for the next two months. That lasted until I bent the frame after a particularly spectacular ramp & crash. I had to save up to pay for the repairs and... once repaired... I wasn't so stupid with my bike anymore. Hmmm.... almost as if since I had to PAY for it, I actually OWNED it and treated it as such. It was a valuable lesson to learn.
