Sorry to hear about the accident. You might be uninsurable unless your parents are listed on the Insurance policy. Any Camaro will be costly for insurance if you drive it for the next 39 months in Texas.

Wow that's a Debi-downer.

But man, I'm going to have to ask, why were you rounding a blind corner going 50mph? We have a few corners like that here, but I think the most I've ever done on them was 40... too risky.

Your insurance company is going to have a hay-day with you, buddy.

You swerve, and you leave the road way then you run the risk of a lot more serious damage and injury than if you just hit the deer. I know your first instinct is to swerve or move out of you lane, but you need to learn to fight that urge... My understanding is that once you leave the road way, the insurance rules change... If you stay on the road and hit the deer, it is a pretty simple comprehensive claim... basically you are not at fault, different deductible and usually doesn't affect your rates (I have had a number of these claims over the last few years and my rates never changed!) Swerve and go off the road and hit a tree... now it becomes a collision claim.. and the insurance company can say you were at fault, raise your rates, and you may have a different deductible for collision... This may be why you are having "issues"... At least that is how things have been explained to me...

And for the record... I once hit 4 deer at ONCE! One word that sums it up... GRUESOME...

I know this advice is after the fact and I'm not trying to rub it it.. but perhaps someone reading this may learn...
Gotto hit the deer man. Keep the car on the road. Then the claim is easy. This is good advice. Keep your car straight, and in your lane, hope the damn deer runs real fast.

My worst fear would be (I think someone said it) of the deer bumping up on the hood of the car and going through the windshield into your face. The cockpit is already kind of cramped, so I'm not sure how pleasant a deer coming at you at 50mph would be in there.

Who's being a nay- sayer? Just pointing out the difference with the pictures and wanting clarification. Anyway.......... Sorry to hear about your car. Glad no one was seriously hurt. Hope all works out for you.

Have met him IRL at our east TX meet. He drives a 6. That picture of the SS he posted for illustration purposes only.
Nowhere in the first thread did he state "these pics are for illustration only".
He states that he crashed his car 15 mins after picking it up, and shows pics of a damaged SS. It was a legitimate assumption that he owned an SS and was showing pics of his car.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49404 First post.
Not the OP, but takes the same amount of time to multi-quote some pics as it does to find the truth, which was my point.

To be fair, he doesn't actually show pictures of a damaged SS. He shows a daylight picture of an SS with red lines drawn on in Paint to illustrate the damage his car sustained. Then shows dark, up close images of his actual damage. Reading his original accident thread it was pretty easy to ascertain his intentions.

Thanks for everything, I really appreciate. Ill find out more on monday about the insurance. The "issue" that im talking about with the insurance is a mistake they made when I recieved insurance on the vehicle. Thanks for everyone that clarified that I DID NOT own a SS in the past, it was just a picture to illustrate where I had sustained damage.
