I have a big pet peeve about people putting fake badges on their cars. Sure it's their car and their choice, but it's also my choice to make fun of them.

I see fake M badges the most like the idiot with the 328 below.

I also saw a fake Z06 on the same day. This douche has a base Vette with a Z06 badge. This is different from Z06 clones that have the body kits but don't badge them as Z06s.

Is this problem rampant in your area too?
Ever see fake SSs? Pretty soon, there may be some fake ZL1s.

what about the cheap addons that people have been doing. like the plastic stickon *turbo* emblems...those bother me too! especially when the car isn't even turboed! lol

Most cars I see this on are Mustangs with Shelby badges and 300C or charger with SRT8 badges or R/T

Yeah, unfortunately Mustang owners are horrendous for doing this and it's not just the guys with the older, clapped out ones either. There's one person in particular in the garage here at work that has a badge modified 2010ish V6 made to look like a GT. Hell, we even have guys with new '11+ GTs that are creating Boss "tribute cars" over on the Mustang forums, which I suppose is the polite, PC way of saying knock off or fake. I don't understand the motivation to make people think you have something that you don't. Anyone that knows enough to appreciate what you're trying to pass your car off as will probably be able to spot the fake and anyone that can't won't care anyway.

I see your point, but that WRX in the picture could very well be an STi. A lot of STi owners of that era disliked the big wing and traded out trunks with WRX owners to get the smaller wing. He has the STi wheels too, so either he put a lot of effort into his fake, or its a legitmate STi. I tend to think it's the latter but its hard to tell without seeing the front - most people don't switch out the hood scoop and the HIDs.

I really wish I could have nabbed a picture of what I'm about to tell you otherwise it's nearly unbelievable. I went to my local auto zone for some oil and see a 90s model white Acura Integra parked a couple cars from me. As I walk in I notice on both front fenders a HEMI badge...were it not for the 4 gentleman standing around it like it was a rare gem, I'd have evidence of the horrendous site.
