Let's hope its lighter, better handling and more power

I am looking to buy a new camaro to go with my old 67 RS/SS. I read so many things I love the style. My hopes are improved rear vision, lighter say 3500-3600 maximum with alittle better track handling. I would not mind the twin turbo V8 I also would not mind a simple V8 upgrade like Direct Injection like the v6 has. Forget the 20" wheels the cars will go faster and handle better with 18s.
Also on another note my friend has the V6 and he wants to know what to do to cut down the weight and increase power? His goal he wants to reach is shaving 200lbs and upping the V6 to near 375HP can it be done without turbos etc.

dammit, so many people interested in the Z28 all over the world ... I just don't get it: GM would sell this car like hot cakes, why waiting/cancelling? As far as I understand the whole thing, the preprod Z28 already exists and just needs a "go" to go to prod, why waiting?

As of right now there is no plan to make a Z28. However we've all seen the photos on the web so there is hope!

GM has not came out with the numbers or what motor the car will come with. Alot think it'll be the same as the CTS-V which produces 530ish.

I like many of us hope to see a Z. It's a wait and see game now.

If I board you

The organizations that he's referring to are not the competition, they're the people who are trying to get rid of the internal combustion engine as soon as possible. I would be surprised to see GM continuing to make many performance cars in the future.

Read in one of the chevy mags within the last month or two that due to the bail outs the government made chevy close down the Z28 preformance division. The car was all mocked up and ready to go to as of Feb with a release as early as the 2011 model year.

"GM insiders insist the design and planning stages for a new Z28 have been completed but with the company’s current financial crisis there remains much doubt as to whether or not the car will ever see the light of day.

Under the hood was to be the Cadillac CTS-V’s supercharged 6.2L LSA V8, complete with six-speed manual (or optional automatic) and 556hp (414kW) output.

Combine these performance numbers with the Camaro’s fully independent suspension and stability control, as well as a completely modern chassis based on the Zeta RWD architecture, and the modern-day Z28 could have been the first Camaro to outgun rival sports cars from Japan and Europe."

Wait so did they PLAN the z28 or did they actually produce a Z28? because proposed ideas and a production model are totally different... i'm confused.
