The 302 5.0L Mustang engine! In reality, 4.942L.

Quick conversion is just think 60ci for every liter.......not precise but close enough......that is why a 305 Chevy or a Ford 302 is a 5.0L and a 350 Chevy and 351 Ford is a 5.7L

Easy peasy.

Probably due to the Metric Conversion Act of 1975...

They were using "Litres" on GTOs right from 1964. I already cited the Ford 7 Litre in the '60s and the T/A in the '70s, and Buick was still making 455s in 1976. Olds was still making them until 1978, in limited numbers

Good catch, you are correct, my error.

Wasn't there a Chevy truck 6.5L diesel as I remember........would that be a 400ci big block? I heard two things about them: either they ran great or were garbage.

Thanks.

Is this the amount of fluid the engine holds in liters if you take off the intake manifold? Just curious.

Shouldn't the unit measure be I^3?

It's 376 Cubic Inches.

It's 61 Cubic Inches per Liter.

A 305 Chevy is exactly 5 Liters.

A 302 Chevy, a 302 Ford(Windsor and Boss, not Coyote), and a 301 Pontiac all have identical 4 inch bores and 3 inch strokes and are actually 301.44 Cubic Inches, 4.9 Liters.

The new Coyote Ford is 301.79 Cubic Inches, 4.95 Liters.

A 350 Chevy is 5.7 Liters, but a 351 Ford is ACTUALLY 352 Cubic Inches, but it IS 5.8 Liters.

A 427 Foroted is ACTUALLY 425.6 Cubic Inches, but it IS 7.0 Liters.

Both the old style Chevy Big Block 427 and the new style LS Small Block 427 are actually 427 Cubic Inches(7.0 Liters), but they achieve this displacement with completely different bores and strokes.

A 396 Chevy is actually 396 Cubic Inches(6.5 Liters) from 1965 to 1969, but it went to 402 Cubic Inches(6.6 Liters) from 1970 to 1972.
Chevy still called them 396s in Camaros and Chevelles, but they called them 400s in Impalas and Monte Carlos.(Not to be confused with 400 Small Blocks, which are actually 400 Cubic Inches, 6.6 Liters)

12.94 in area X 3.62 inch stroke = 46.86 cubic inches
46.86 X 8 cylinders = 374.92 cubic inches

The released bore and stroke sizes are only accurate to 1/100th. Another 1,000th in the bore and stroke would put it at the advertised 376.

Now I am an ironworker teaching algebra.
ACTUALLY it's:
4.065 Bore / 2 = 2.0325 Bore Radius
2.0325 Bore Radius x 2.0325 Bore Radius = 4.13105625 Bore Radius Squared
4.13105625 Bore Radius Squared x 3.14159265359 Pi = 12.97809596656705 Square Inches
12.97809596656705 Square Inches x 3.622 Stroke = 47.00666359090586 Cubic Inches
47.00666359090586 Cubic Inches x 8 Cylinders = 376.0533087272468 Cubic Inches
