Questions about the build and order process
I have a 2LT Convertible being built and after looking thru the threads and doing a few searches have some questions about the build process. What is a Hood Wrap? Are stripe packages put on the car during the assembly process or added afterwards and if so does that happen at the plant? Is a convertible built on the same line as the other cars or does it require a trip to a separate location for the top to be installed and is so does that happen at the plant?

The "hood wrap" is on the 1LE..it's the black hood cover. Stripe packages are now installed at the factory. All of the Camaros are built on the same assembly line.

I hope it is ok to add to your thread. I have questions too...
How often does the chevy tracking tool website update? Meaning how often will I see a change in the status of my car. It currently reads that final documentation is being sent to the factory... or something close to that. |

You must be bummed hotrodder. I hope the weather that seems to have created a bottleneck in the shipping process will be more cooperative when mine comes off the line. FWIW back in 2006 I was waiting for my Solstice to be built, rght about the time it was due I got orders from the Army sending me to Korea for a short tour. It was comforting knowing on the 14 hour flight back my new car was waiting for me.

If you Guys don't mind would like to throw in a question of my own. How long does it normally take to see things start progressing?
Ordered my car two days ago and it showed in the Chevy tracking system yesterday. How long does it take to move past the 1100 stage, get tpw etc Thanks |
