window indexing for tinting

does anyone know how to disable the window indexing so you can have the windows tinted??? I think i remember reading in the manual about if you change the batt. you may have to reprogram the windows to index so i am thinking i can just unhook the batt. and hook it back up and they should not index untill i reprogram them am i right?

Not positive but I think if you open the door and have the Accessory key power on.
Just throw the door latch lock in the open door to the lock position and the windo will index up.
NOTE: just remember to manually throw the latch back to open position before trying to shut the door or it will just bang hard against the latch.

My BMW has the indexing .... what the guy did was actually peel down the rubber molding to get it all on. When he was done it looked really good. I was able to drive the car without waiting as well. It didn't mess up the tinting at all. Hopefully it will be the same for the camaro ..

My firend that owns a shop say the pull the relay and put it back in 3 days latter. Guess he means a fuse or something.

I am not tinting, just asked him about it.

I got my Camaro tinted last Friday and have had no issues. I drove the car all weekend. If you go to a shop that does BMWs or even the new Mustangs they won't have any trouble laying the tint. As for opening the doors, you may get a very tiny air bubble or two, but a good shop can smooth these out for you.

The tint shop I plan on using said they tint a lot of cars with window indexing and they would not have a problem and I can drive and use the car as normal. Just not to roll the window down for a few days, but the indexing should be ok.

when you pull the door handle, the window lowers about a half an inch before the door opens. It allows the window to roll up into the frame for a better seal. corvettes now have it also
