Honestly the thing was wrapped in a ton of bubble wrap but it can only do so much when the box is clearly being crushed like that...

I've seen a couple cars on here with the headlight housings painted white. My personally opinion I didn't like it at all. Then again, they weren't done on WHITE cars. Yours would probably look better but I still would never!

Jim-
I put on 4 when I first did the plastidip. It came out good, just the tape was the problem. So, I'd say 4 AT LEAST. On the bumper I was gonna put 5 coats.

Well.....what a failed attempt......the stuff kept getting little holes in spots....definitely ripped apart in a few places from the tape.....and I am out of plasti dip....so we'll try again some other time or I will vinyl it.

See what I mean with the tape! Gotta have someone with experience help us cough cough around the end of may.

On a side note, replacement halos came in today.

They're not wired up yet but they are in finally. Was running out of daylight to wire up.

Yeah.... the tape is fun..... actually the only place I had a problem was right at the bottom of the black insert for the grill.......going across the bumper I did what Scotty said about pulling the tape back on itself and it came out fine....of course I wasn't taking it easy when taking off the tape because I had already ruined the front side of the bumper with those bubbles and no more plasti dip.

I have three cans here if you want to give it another shot. I might try to do my gas cover today. That sounds pretty more entry level and simple for me to do. I hate doing things over so I'm just gonna wait for help before I try and bigger areas.

Thanks, I just bought two more on my way home from getting one of the catalytic convertors changed in my wife's Tahoe....ugh... not what I needed right now....it was only a matter of time though, the other one blew up a little over a year ago.
promotion testing is next week and the car should be getting the door repainted during the week as well....maybe try and screw with it again the following week. at least its easy to do trial and error with this stuff.
