I'm at work now, So I don't know all that they did, but they told me they were gonna give me something that notes that it was brought to there attention an d was a problem before the warranty runs out. I also had some loose converter bolts that they fixed at no cost to me, so they not that bad. I just need to see what that paper they give me says. I may give them an other chance to repair it, or I may just escalate it. I didn't give them a completely satisfied on their survey

F that. Why would any dealership refuse to fix an obvious problem? Then state that the repair might not fix it???? That too is BS. They will fix it as many times as the manufacturer seems necessary. Or is it that they don't know the pans supposed to be changed as well?

Find another dealer. Your chancing not getting your car fixed in time then having to fight with someone else and getting turned down

Don't wait till it's out of warranty. Go somewhere else while it's in warranty and while the problem is occurring.

I got a component letter from Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center, it says that the components will be covered from December12,2014 starting at 49008 miles until december 12,2017 or 94008 miles. So how do I go about getting this leak problem fixed

Apparently early oil pans had some sort of problem according to the service manager. They had to drop the entire front rack to make this repair.

The only thing that I was spared on was the rear main seal leak due to porous casting flaws in the block. Early cars have this problem but maybe mine was made late enough to avoid that mess. Maybe it will start later. Who knows.

I had a ton of other issues, all before 24k miles. Things like the radiator exploding, power steering knuckle leaking, brake reservoir and cap leaking...on and on.

I never thought that I would own a car of worse quality than my (bought brand new) 1988 IROC but 26 years later, the new title of worst piece of junk I have ever owned goes to the Gen5 Camaro.
WOW you had some major problems, I hope you were able to get them all corrected, I also had the oil cooler leak, they fixed that one already

I had many more issues than those that I itemized, but yes, I did end up fixing the problems for good. I did this by dumping the car and getting a Scat Pack Challenger.

Good ole GM.....poor workmanship and they only cover it for 5 years? But they send a letter about a recall for a keyfob, go figure. Just goes to show what they really care about. Avoiding lawsuits and least cost to them. Keep up the good work Barra...

if it's your oil pan, you're looking at around 800-900 for the fix in total. The part itself is cheap, but labor to replace is $$$...

Source: I just had my oil pan gasket replaced a few months ago

$8-900.00? Is this what you paid? It's a 3 day job.
A camaro5 member once said it's about $2,000.00.
Hopefully your right, not him.

4 Years ago, had my car not been under warranty, the dealer told me it was at least a $1,500-$1,800 repair. They also took the better part of 4 days to complete all of the work.

800-900 sounds way too low to me as well.

Ya, the dealer had my SS for 3 full days. The entire front cradle had to come out
to access the oil pan, plus the front suspension had to be sent out for a new alignment
after the repairs were completed.

Just found out that the New gm pans have design change. Apparently the area in the oil cooler return line is slightly different. Seems to me gm knows there's an issue otherwise why make a change to the pan.

Old.

My 2010 with 6000 miles went to leaking this past summer. I did not buy my Camaro from the local chevy dealer and was not sure I wanted him to touch it. The local Buick/GMC dealer was more than happy to look at it . He determined it was the oil pan. It took two days, was covered under warranty. I am happy and the Buick/GMC guy is happy. Understand some guys use the Cadillac dealership.
