I saw a 1969 small block Z/28 on the Mecum Muscle Car auction over the weekend. They said it had 290hp. That car probably got 10-12 mph. Makes the LLT look better all the time.

If theirs a Top ten engine engine list for 2010, this would be in the top 5 of that list, GM really did the shit out of this engine

I would like to compare it to Chrysler's 3.6 and 4.0 DI Phoenix engines when the spec are released

If I had a limitless supply of money, I'd buy the V6 and drop in lower CR pistons and the supercharge it with one of the new maggy 1900's at about 5-7 psi of boost. Then a full exhaust and a full suspension. Plenty of power, plenty of fun, and it would pull really good mileage too (probably better than the LLT does already since it would be lower CR).

You are right, put we came to the same # 500+ HP

That gasket....

I don't like those plastic and orange gasket's. They tend to melt. It should be metal framed like some of the Fel Pro kits that have fixed past GM gaskets.

IMO* maybe it's cool enough so it won't melt. Or they could have improved material.

if you are going thru all that trouble (with limitless supply of moolah), why not throw in some methanol injection and run 10-12 psi?

Meh, because its more things to go wrong and I'd rather be spending my limitless supply of money on other things, like bailing out GM, or buying myself a limitless supply of jellybeans.

yeah, but if you've got the money, then you can pay to make sure it doesnt go wrong.

@ Xanthos,

Sorry, just starting to really get into engines. What does 'CR' stand for, and how do you go about to putting in lower CR pistons?

Cheers!

Cr means compression ratio
